Something needs to change. Lou or Zac need to go by Monday. I’d prefer Zac to go. He can’t call plays. Lou just doesn’t have the horses to run a solid D. These players suck and they did nothing all of season but sign stone and rankins. And the board here was ecstatic. Lmao.
I would trade Tee now for a second or better. This off-season I would cut BJ hill, Hubbard, stone, bell, Dax hill. Sign or trade for a DT and DE. Sign 2 corners and a safety.
This roster can’t win. 1-4 is all you need. Anyone who wants to come on here and say otherwise is either a Homer or living in 2021. The nfl turns on a dime. Look how bad the falcons have been since they lost to Brady after being up 27-3 at half. The 2021 bengals are dead. We are worse this year with a healthy burrow than we were last year with an injured burrow. That’s not a shot at burrow. This defense lost too many players and we’re relying on players who never showed they’re capable.
the entire secondary is garbage. The D line outside of Hendrickson is garbage. You can’t win in the nfl like that. We score 30+ 3 weeks in a row, barely win 1 of those…against the worst team in the nfl. Think about this, we barely beat the worst team in the nfl.
We are a bottom 5 team. Cleveland is worse but would you be surprised if we lose to them twice? The season was over week 1. No one wanted to admit it.

It absolutely is. I don't disagree with more of a defensive-focused draft, we sure as hell need it. But it'd be handing the keys for a Maserati to a bum without a licence, if we have Lou on the staff when we draft them. You'll need a good coach to elevate those talents, and any coach with any talent would've held the Ravens to under 41 today.

They don't know how to draft they drafted 1 HOF player ( Munoz ) in 50 plus years of drafting. They couldn't pick a O Lineman to save there lives. The last three first rounders Ogbuehi a flop, Jonah Williams fair at best, and Price a complete flop, but they don't resign a Whitworth, Zeitler, and Boling the best line they had in years. Brown is a football idiot. People in the league laugh at Brown for his incompetence, and inability to make a decision. I think he's a Cleveland fan because there is no way he likes the Bengals.

Lets run the ball 3 times up the middle and hope you make a 50+ yard field goal or you are giving Baltimore the ball near mid field with Justin Tucker sitting on the other sideline. That is a horrible strategy. The guy is just a bad head coach. How many times do we waste timeouts or get a delay of game because Zac doesnt have the play sent in time?
Zac needs fired right now. Bring in Bill Belichick. He could win with the talent on this team and he would find someone that could turn the defense into a good one.
Is he currently unemployed? This actually would be a great strategy. I would do this tomorrow. It may not be enough to salvage the season given the current status, but you can bet your ass we would contend next year. He’s not the greatest coach in the world, but he’s pretty good and he did really well with a great QB which we have. As you said, he would find someone to fix the rest.

I mean He is 100% to blame for those awful play calls at the end of the game. Run up the middle 3 times when Burrow/Chase/Tee are killing it. Too long of a FG to settle for. Move the ball and score. Do not SETTLE. We were COWARDS. ***** play calling loses games. Thanks Zach.
More importantly we won't win any games this season unless we score 45 points which is insane
Something needs to happen. Fire Lou. Fire someone.

Yup.
I'm as big fan of Burrow as anyone,, absolutely thrilled the Bengals have him as a qb. But, chance to ice the game and failed. Absolute truth and it sickens me to say it.
And idk,, maybe Burrow was on board with playing for a long FG in OT or potentially he is directed not to check out of many plays, but seeing a stacked box and Chase against a rookie can Burrow not check into another play there?
Anyway, my new sig:
- Let's play for the long FG
- 3 straight runs up the gut
- call a timeout to effectively ice our own kicker and holder

Some team is almost certainly going to go after Belichick after this season. The Bengals could jump everybody by getting rid of Taylor now and hiring Belichick. If you wait to get rid of Taylor after the season is over, what are your options at that point? I want a proven head coach that can win with talent.

Did Burrow call 3 runs up the middle at the end of the game?

He called one of the 3. Those were not wrong.

Defense people.
Multiple 10 point leads.

Lots of venting in this thread, Zac is not one of the big issues with this team right now.

Strongly disagree. If you asked the Ravens coach what he wanted us to do what do you think he would have said? I guarantee he would have said please run it 3 times and try a very long FG. Played right into their hands.
Chase had almost 300 yards. Tee had 2 TDS. Get 5-10 more yards instead of doing EXACTLY what the Ravens want

This would be a very wise strategy right now if he would be willing to come here, he would take full advantage of the good personnel that we have and weed out the bad. We would probably also draft better and have new coordinators in several places for next season. I think it would be an epic turnaround that we will never see.

3 straight 10 point leads,,,, only to watch the D just let Baltimore march down the field like he was Sherman on his way to the sea

I get it, but so much lack of understanding from many posters in this thread. As usual.
Zac did call a pass during the last 3 plays, Burrow checked out of it. Those run plays were not bad calls.
#1 They were beating our oline.
#2 They were jumping short routes, see Joe's INT.
#3 We were just inside of FG range, a sack takes us out of FG range.
#4 A hold takes out of FG range.
Zac didnt ice our kicker, we had a personnel issue and were in danger of a play clock infraction. Thats on Darren Simmons and the player.

It is a frustrating season, we knew the amount of $$ and draft picks favored offense over defensive so we expect struggles and injuries have hurt defense over offense. So chalk up loses on defense but 2 games Burrow and offense has ability to ice games and we dont..split it and we are 2-3

That by definition is playing like a coward. And right into their hands. We are paying Joe a LOT of money to make throws to win not hand off to a 5th round pick up the middle when Bal is 100000% expecting the run.

Good points but Zac is also the boss of all the other coordinators who are failing and still allowing it to continue weekly. He can’t be the nice guy forever. I feel like it really shows with complacency and no fear of accountability.

Yea, Zac isn't the real problem here. The ownership and Duke are. Refusing to sign quality proven players and letting them walk and horrible drafting year after year. The Bengals are the league pros at giving a false sense of security temporarily only to fall flat on their face soon after. The only common thread thru all the decades of different coaches, players is the FO and Duke.
How is it that opposing receivers are ALWAYS wide open against our secondary? They usually have a 5 yard cushion anyplace on the field.

We didnt need any yards, taking unnecessary risks can be considered amateur.
If we tried to pass and we were pushed back due to holding call or a sack, the same posters here would be crying and yelling to fire Zac.
If the ball was tipped at the LOS and intercepted, the same.
These run calls were not bad calls. They were conservative AND Zac did call for a pass, likely on 2nd down.
Im not a huge Zac defender but basic football is basic football.
