But hey, Sam was our 2nd best defender after *checks notes* Bj Hill!
Well if you (not you in particular) aren't in the mood for praising one of our players who had a good game after struggling through the first few while playing with a hamstring injury, then don't praise him. That's different than feeling the need to dump all over him like some do.

Here's the thing, despite the results of collective defensive effort, Hill and Hubbard were the best two Bengal defenders. Could you imagine how ugly that game could have gotten early on, if it weren't for their disruptive efforts?
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Hill is another one that doesn't get his due. People seem to think of him as an average player. The dude, for a DT, is a turnover machine.

I recall a play where protection for Jackson broke down and they had him doing what he does best, scrambling around. Hill and Murphy were both in pursuit, it looked like BJ Hill was in fast forward mode while Myles Murphy had sand in his boots.

Yeah, but if we don't throw crazy money at him and he leaves and prospers elsewhere, we'll keep hearing the "Cheap" narrative

BJ Hill has looked better than Rankins this year. I would also be for extending BJ.
