Zac's Prevent Offense

Always take a win, but the offense has not looked great in back-to-back weeks, along with Zac's annoying philosophy.

I hate the way Zac calls plays, dude. It is endlessly frustrating.

Zac's plateau is a playoff team on good years but not a smart enough coach to win a Superbowl.

I thought we had 2 SB wins with Burrow in our future the first time Zac took us to the SB but since then he has shown his stripes, and he is not a smart coach and make mistakes year after year that should have been corrected.

Zac does not learn from his mistakes he is too arrogant or ignorant.
So what would you have done on that last play in the SB, smart guy?

Can we please give the Tyler Boyd excuse a rest?  Boyd has 18 receptions for 170 yards with 0 TDs on the season.  Andrei Iosivas has 14 receptions for 189 yards with 3 TDs on the season.  Iosivas as the #3 WR is doing better this year than Boyd is performing.

Yeah, there really is a lot of stupidity on there.

im just saying theyre missing a legit 3rd option for the middle of the field. And the titans are a disaster at qb

If we win a Super Bowl it will because the defense stepped up and we out talent the other teams offense.  Zac is a horrible X's and O's coach.

I will agree the Titans QB position is a disaster.

Someone should show Zac the playoff seeding tiebreaker procedures. Strength of victory can matter.

I think throwing at the Brown's backfield is not smart when you're sitting on a 2 score lead and they haven't been able to put points on the board for most of the game. Running it was the smart move. It worked, we won. If they threw it, you never know what could have happened and we could be on here complaining about a loss because of a pick six. I swear, it's like people (not you specifically so don't get all wadded up) are mad we won. It's the AFCN, we went into their house and won. Period. If we threw in those last 6 minutes the outcome is not a given.

I am saying that I hate that Zac coaches not to lose.  And he has cost us games doing that.  This is not something new to this year.  Reid does NOT take the ball out of Mahomes hands half way through the 4th Qtr, or anytime for that matter.

I don't feel that is the case, at all. What I do think is that he's so caught up in being a "nice guy", not wanting to appear to run up the score on opposing coaches, and wanting to micromanage the offense to a point that they become ineffective when playing with a second half lead.

My suggestion would be that if you want to run the ball and eat clock, focus more on running the ball as a priority of the offensive mindset. (See Dan Campbell in Detroit for example) Bring in the physical style of OL to accomplish the goal that you want to achieve. As it stands now, when the Bengals go into slowdown mode, it's like a parody of who they really are. Step on the damn throat, let the offense score that TD that puts the lead insurmountable, dammit.

I also find it odd decision making by Zac because he runs the offense from week-to-week to what he perceive is its primary strength: letting Burrow throw the ball. It's one reason why the team isn't ranked highly in the running game.

Yet frequently, Zac is prone to playing call, as you note "not to lose," that seems to go away from what he perceives as the strength of his offense: Burrow throwing the ball.

I don't fault running out the clock, but he did it so early in the 4th quarter.

But in the Bengals offense last year after 7 games, Boyd had 33 rec for 244 yards and 2 TDs.
I'm sure Boyd playing on a different team with a much worse QB is factoring into his lower performance this season.
Do I think he'd be at 33/233/2 at this point as a Bengal though? No.
I'd predict somewhere around 25/210/2, so not too far off Iosivas, but maybe slightly better.

Either way, Iosivas is on pace for just 459 yards.
Not good for a clear 3rd option in the offense, but Bengals are deploying more 12 personnel this year and Gesicki is at 18/180/0 this year, so Iosivas is 3A whereas Gesicki is 3B.

Chase and Higgins are doing very well.
Higgins is on pace to still surpass 1000 yards even while missing a couple games already this season.
Chase is on page for around 1500 yards and is leading the league in receiving yards currently.
As long as Chase and Higgins continue to do so well, I'm not overly concerned with the WR3 having less production compared to the previous few years.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Maybe... but Iosivas and Gesicki have almost completely disappeared from this offense over the last 4 games. Isovias pace over the last 4 games is 2 targets 1 catch 30ish yards and didnt even have that this week. Gesicki is like 1 target 1 catch.

Tyler Boyd isn't the player he used to be but when he was in Cincy he was a slot receiver that moved the chains. Bengals don't have that middle of the field receiver right now.

Zac has become glued to analytics with a guy available on the headset to be ready for input. But we intercepted with 4:03 left with a 21-6 lead at the Cleveland 30. Already in FG range to seal the game. An 18 point lead under 4 minutes is the goal here as they burned all 3 timeouts. Seems strategic to me. Of course he misses. But still they have no timeouts. They have to score twice and make a 2 point conversion with no timeouts in under 4 minutes. This game he was right. McPherson not making the field goal was the only flaw here.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I don’t understand how people who have even a molar understanding of how football works aren’t highly aggravated with Taylor.

This offense has been sluggish and ineffective back to back weeks. It was downright horrifying against NE. And the best effort of the year was wasted because he openly admitted he didn’t want to risk a turnover in OT so he parked the bus for a 50+ yard FG.

He also abandons the run too quickly most games (or never employs it meaningfully) yet expects it to be able to churn out enough yards to put a team away in the 4th Q.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

How about just letting your offense do what it does best, and make it a 28-6 lead?

I believe ZT's offense succeeded by out talenting everyone.

There's no excuse for this 8 quarter shit show with this roster all while MN, DT, KC, & WAS continues to get so much more out of less.
