Oh, I completely agree. The organization is in a good position with its front office, coaching, and players. If the Bengals can't win the Super Bowl, I'd happily cheer on the Lions as they have a starved fanbase like us.

Idk the Lions, Bills, Texans, etc winning one before us would just make it hurt even more honestly.

Well, the alternative is to root for no team to win a Super Bowl. Once the Bengals are eliminated in a season, I mostly focus my fandom on their draft. During some seasons, however, I might watch another team more closely that captures my interest. I'd much rather see the Lions or Bills win than the Chiefs, 49'ers, Steelers, or Ravens. Mind you, I only really want the Bengals winning the Super Bowl.

Ideally because you DGAF about their motivation because you're just going to do it to them again anyway.
In 2021 we...
Beat the Steelers 41-10
Beat the Ravens 41-17
Beat the Ravens 41-21
Beat the Raiders 32-13
Beat the Lions 34-11
(We got blown out twice, too, so what?)
Worrying that scoring points will give them motivation rather than absolutely demoralizing them with a beatdown their grandchildren will feel just feels like a soft mentality.
Don't let teams hang around and have hope if you can just snuff it out instead.

Yeah, I like demoralizing teams myself and don't give a damn about so called revenge and I usually agree with Sled on most things on here.

From the same board that excoriates players running their mouths and giving the other team bulletin board material. What's going to motivate an opponent more, some player running their mouth (looking at you CTB), or being embarrassed by having the score run up on them? (not that I'm against running the score up, but it's a double edged sword.)

“Volson is headed in the right direction” after he has a good game. But Volson inevitably falls back into bad/mediocre, and these people just stay silent on the matter, or they just lie to themselves and say “he was good, idk what the advanced metrics are looking at”
It’s all the time, man
I've been guilty of getting some optimism (or maybe just less doubtful) that Volson could (keyword = could) be starting to turn the corner, as he had performed better the second half of each of the past couple seasons compared to the first half.
But low and behold, he doesn't seem to keep that momentum going into a new season.
The previous 2 seasons, Volson ended up allowing 5 sacks and 38 total pressures each.
This year, he's on pace for 5 sacks and 34 total pressures.
He's about the same dude he's always been, I guess.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

He seems pretty beloved from what I can tell.
No he was crucified. I believe it was, kick the FG and tie, but he elected to go for the win and that didn't work. Fans were not happy, he should have done this or that, wrong play call.... sound familiar?

Because running your mouth isn't demoralizing opponents, it doesn't win games, and it doesn't completely put a comeback out of reach. Scoring points does all of that. Meanwhile talking smack prior to a game is just pointless barking.

Of course, it isn't that simple as it takes an entire organization to experience both success and failure.
Zac is still 8 games under .500 as a coach so I hope he continues to improve and demonstrate he can adapt instead of sticking to a fixed way of coaching a game.
and anyone suggesting that Taylor be fired with the success that he has had recently is juts spinning their wheels..ridiculous

Campbell was an interim HC that season. Not sure how much you can really infer from that.

You realize that the Miami offense was worse after Zac took over?

Both great points. If you have a smash-mouth team that's good at running the ball and playing strong defense, you sit on a lead and run out the clock. If your team passes the ball well and has just an average defense, you score as much as you can. While trash talk might be good for the egos of the players involved, it really adds nothing to the game.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Right. "it's not just you". It sounds familiar. But I can't quite put my finger on who brought these things up weeks/months ago under heavy insults / personal attacks. Someone wise with exceptional vision and astute observations I believe.

During the five games Taylor served as offensive coordinator, the Dolphins went 2–3 and averaged 17 points per game, a slight regress from their per-game average under Lazor
He was literally worse than Bill Lazor.

Well if Zac was available he would nab him because Jared Goff worships Zac
