I know a couple posters will be really upset to see this...

Rookie 12th overall pick QB, Courtlan Sutton and Josh Reynolds are their #1 and #2 WRs, and $79.3m in dead cap space (they've basically only been able to spend ~2/3rds of a normal salary cap).... and the Broncos are 4-3.

Broncos also have a Top 5 defense.
The offense is still under middle of the pack.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Kinda what they showed last night. All I'd seen up to that point was "highlights", of which there wasn't very much....lol.

I don't think I could name a single guy on that defense other than Patrick Surtain.

Under middle of the pack with nearly $80m in dead cap space, and no real offensive weapons of note, is still actually kind of impressive.

Try to remove $76m in salary cap from our current roster. How do you think we would fair?

1st game - drives the team down and has a TD pass called back for OPI. Kicker misses a chip shot to tie it with :02 left.

2nd game - Final drive they were down 12 after the defense failed to stop the Browns after the Bengals pulled to within 23-28 with 5:55 in the game on a Burrow TD pass.

3rd game - Speaks for itself in the description above. Throws a game sealing INT with 1/2 minute left.

4th game - Defense gave up lead with :11 seconds after Burrow TD pass with 1:06 left in the game took the lead.

2020 - That's 3 clutch, 1 no clutch----2 team fails, 1 Burrow fail and 1 defecit greater than 1 score on last drive.

1st game - down 17 with 6:40 left. Gets to within 3 and D missed a chance at a sack on 3rd down for a chance at a GWD.

2nd game - mixed bag. Gets team in FG range twice, missed FG both times. Throws INT in OT.

3rd game - throws INT that leads to Jets lead then gets sacked on 3rd down before Jets run out clock.

4th game - Infamous conservative play calling in OT. Leads team to tying TD late with clutch passes then gets close in OT before 2 runs and a sack on 3rd down. SF wins game on next drive with TD.

5th game - Super Bowl. Failed to add to lead in 4th and gets the ball back with 1:25. Hits a couple passes then a failed run on 3rd and 1 and a quick sack while Ja'Marr was wide open down the right sideline.

2021 - That's 3 clutch, 2 no clutch----3 team fails, 1 clear Burrow fail in NYJ and a 50/50 team/Burrow fail in the SB.

2020/2021 -- 6 clutch, 3 no clutch

2022 i don't need to type all out.

1st game - vs Pitt. Throws TD pass as time expires to tie. XP blocked. Missed FG in OT

2nd game - vs Dallas. Completes three 3rd downs and one 4th down. Throws TD pass and 2pt conversion to tie it. Defense give up game on last second FG.

3rd game - vs Balt. Drives team down and scores go ahead rushing TD with 1:56 left. Defense gives up game on last second FG.

4th game - vs KC in AFCCG. Fails to drive the team to go ahead TD/FG after 3rd down sack. Defense gives up game on last second FG.

2022 - That's 3 clutch, 1 no clutch----3 team fails, 1 Burrow fail.

There is never an excuse to try and dink & dunk with this offense. Or to have Ja’Marr Chase see less than 10 targets.

One thing that's frustrating is when he fails, there were options. I know i know, no one is perfect but i think sometimes he's looking for something bigger when something smaller will move the chains.

Example from KC this year. Late game, Andre has just failed to sit down in a zone and misses a perfect pass for a first down. Now comes 3rd down, late, with a chance to move the chains. Take a look at Trenton Irwin. He's wide open at the sticks and i think Burrow was looking at Zikkie on a deeper route that he's thrown a million times. Problem is the blitz got to him. It's "failures" like this that i can live with because i see what he wanted to do, but sometimes you just need to crawl a bit instead of running. That's why i won't call this a failure...even though it was...    Cool

The SB fail was all O-line & O-line only.

I still haven't watched the highlights of the Super Bowl. I've watched the highlights of the Chiefs games multiple times, but I can't bring myself to watch that game.

?

I'm all aboard with the belief that the Refs and the Chiefs are on the same team, but that specific penalty wasn't sketchy at all.

If you slow down the playback speed, you can see Mahomes was on his third step out of bounds when Ossai shoved him.

In full-speed, real time action it looked like he barely touched Mahommes, and more like a soccer flop.

In full speed, it 100% looks like a penalty. I'm mildly surprised people still take umbrage with this call. It's a very obvious call and as Bengals fans, we would be furious if this happened to Burrow and it wasn't called.

Yep, that was a dumbass penalty on Ossai and him and everybody knows it I thought.

I don't know. I would have wanted that called for Burrow.

Just like the roughing call that wasn't earlier...

I'm just thinking that if the Oline was failing so badly, i would have liked to try something different to generate some points. Didn't seem like they really did anything to counteract it.

You mean.... like run a screen?  The Rams were one of, if not the worst at defending screens that season.  We ran zero screens in the Super Bowl.

Of course we would have wanted the call for Burrow, we're fans of the team. All I'm saying is that it was very light on the touch for a "shove" and quite heavy on the taking a dive on Mahommes' part. That's why I described it as a soccer flop. I understand how the text of the rule reads, and Ossai was guilty, as his hands were technically on Mahommes.
