Higgins Liste Questionable.... AGAIN

if they were truly serious about finding a Boyd or Higgins replacement, they should use a 1st or 2nd

Even harder with subpar scouting. I wouldn't give up Ja'Marr for anything, and I'm glad they picked him. Just frustrating that Detroit could come away with Sewell, AND Amon-Ra St. Brown in the same draft. No way we pull that off.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

lions got lucky with st. brown. lions still make poor draft choices in general

Lions draft classes since the Chase/Sewell debate have been superior to the Bengals’ drafts.
Through 2023

Mike Brown’s Owner/GM record: 32 years  223-303-4  .419 winning pct.
Playoff Record:  5-9, .357 winning pct.
Zac Taylor coaching record, reg. season:  37-44-1. .455 winning pct.
Playoff Record: 5-2, .714 winning pct.

Was thinking that the TEs seemed to get some love at some point this year. Doesn't hurt go back into that.

I'd look for more 2 TE looks instead. And/or more Irwin.

I'd rather trade Tee for a player than a pick.

I still stand by the idea that it's a net negative for the team when he doesn't play, and it's gonna be more than a slight problem if he's not brought back. For a team with a reputation for being good at drafting WR, we've got an athlete that we all HOPE can become a good receiver, and a guy who only slipped in the draft because of character concerns (who can't get on the field) waiting in the wings. Chris Henry slipped in the draft for character concerns too... He somehow managed to contribute from the jump.

Yes, agreed. Higgins is a good player so having good players on the field is good. I just don't think it'll be much of a problem unless they just sit on their hands and don't address improving the quality of depth at WR. We don't need a Tee replacement, we need upgrades over everyone behind Tee to bring the floor of the position for us up. With Burrow he should be good with Chase and a handful of solid guys, but currently without Tee it's Chase and a bunch of scrubs. That's the real problem in my opinion.

We do? Our WRs drafted after the 2nd round the last 10 years....

Jermaine Burton
Charlie Jones
Andrei Iosivas
Auden Tate
Josh Malone
Cody Core
Mario Alford

Marvin Jones was 13 years ago. We generally don't get good results at WR unless we use high draft picks on it.

Well first 3 games, they were getting some love with Higgins out.  Avg almost 8 catches a game 1st 3 .  So i see a bigger game out of Gesicki, All has not shown much in receiving end with just around 6 yards a catch

Geiski-  14 catches 19 targets
Rest of TEs-  9 catches 11 targets

I don't know if Taylor/Burrow/OC/whomever either knows how to use tight ends in this offense passing wise, or if they even want to. Because, as we all know, since when has a tight end influence Super Bowl winning teams like Chiefs and Patriots.

Who knows though, could be a day full of surprises.

I love Burton. He’s going to be really good, and I hope they give him all the opps they can this year.

But if he doesn’t look the part, draft or sign a complimentary #2. It’s easier said than done, but they cannot pay big bucks to a guy like Tee. I love him and I wish it was different, but it ain’t.

They were using TEs often in the Chiefs game when Tee was out.

Hopefully we see some good TE utilization today.

Advantage to us on defense, they are out three starters vs us out Higgins, take advantage defense

Well optimistic is one thing but it seems he just has not proven it early to staff .. if Higgins is out for a few games and he continues to be a ghost on offense, they will be looking im sure a WR in 1st/2nd round or a dependable seasoned FA
