PFF Grades vs Eagles
#21

Cappa has been getting rag dolled, a lot. We have two other lineman with pass block grades in the 40's !! One a barely serviceable 57 and one very good one, Brown of course. It's a miracle that Joe Burrow and Co. have us in the top 10 in passing with this putrid Oline.

And run blocking - LOL  Hilarious

Our guards are severly lacking. Cappa has become the weak spot on the line. They should cut him and move on after this year but I doubt they do it.

Honestly they should rebuild the entire IOL (with better athletes). I like our OT’s, but when Karras is your best interior guy it’s not great.

Hopefully they have something in Matt Lee. He actually scored pretty well in his athletic testing.

Not sure if they plan on playing him at center or if he can move to guard or what.

If the season keeps going south why not start getting Lee some snaps? Can't really get worse.

Yeah ....what run blocking  LMAO

I get it, they DID try to improve this unit. They signed FAs, they invested some draft capital....but something isn't jiving here. Either Pollack is REALLY bad, or the scouting/GM is. That's the only two scenarios that are plausible. A 9.6 is unheard of.... especially for a veteran player that started for a Super Bowl winner.

Yes, the IOL is getting everything blown up. Mims is VERY promising, and should only get better. Orlando has played some pretty good football since he got here.

Charlie Jones had great hands his last year in college and his body type 6 foot 190 pounds fits the slot better then Yoshi 6'3 and 210.

Yoshi was also switched to slot right at the start of the season last minute screw up by Zac.

I always thought that the whole "Super Bowl winners" when talking about Cappa and Karras was a bit overblown.
-Cappa played <50% of the snaps in the wildcard and didn't play again all postseason. Someone named Aaron Stinnie that I have never heard of started that SB, he's a backup for the Giants now.
-Karras played 1 snap on offense in the first 2016 postseason game and never saw the field on offense again. In 2018 he played 3 snaps on offense in the first postseason game and never played a snap on offense the rest of the postseason. Joe Thuney started both of those SBs who later signed with the Chiefs. We got Thuney's backup and then played him out of position.

They had played as many snaps on offense in the Super Bowl as Blaine Gabbert (a 2x SB winner, and started a game last year for the SB champ Chiefs) when we signed them.

The only reason I think it *may* not be both is because the oline problems outdate Pollack.

I wasn't necessarily touting the fact that these guys played on a Super Bowl winner as much as saying it's hard to believe a guy was thought of enough to start for a Super Bowl winner while scoring below a ten in pass blocking here.

Or Charlie, that is right. I would think he would be more solid than Yoshi as he also has very good hands like Burton.

I know Yoshi worked really hard on catching the ball with his hands in the Offseason, but he clearly isn't there yet with the inexcusable drop
he just had against the Eagles.

Good question, he made the best play of the game for our Defense tackling Barkley for a loss and I saw him making good plays other than this.
