Lol, you're blaming Joe for the Bengals not signing better players before Burrow's numbers have even really kicked in.

Last year Burrow's cap hit was $19.5m.
This year Burrow's cap hit is $29.7m.

Lamar's had a higher cap hit than Burrow for the last 3 straight years.

The same Bengals who decided to spend $39m of their cap space this year on Higgins, Rankins, and Stone are magically going to become smart spenders if Burrow takes below market value even though they haven't been while his cap hits were still low?

Yea there’s no excuse for the team to be this bad. Tiny little scouting department, letting Bates walk, re-signing average linebackers, putrid free agents.

Not to mention not signing chase prior to this year when he would’ve been cheaper..

This thread is about trading Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase...  would you like to trade them? Useless thread.

yeah that's a good maddening point to. he's ultimately gonna cost ownership more now than if they would've just made a deal but yanno had to "haggle" lol really no excuse for this type of behavior they just keep putting themselves behind the chains as a franchise. just need to end it b/c they can't do it.

No, it’s got a little more nuance, which flew right over your head

You could make an argument for trading Jamar(look at KC) but Burrow would be a hell no.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

What nuance? Only way for Joe out is trade and only way for Ja'Marr is not signing a few tags in a row.  (Can tag him 3 times too get to top price lol).

Useless thread.

Jamarr will get paid by 31 other teams.

Joe’s going to have to pull a Palmer. But the hits he’ll save himself sitting out while waiting to be traded will be worth it in the long run.

Those guys deserve HOF careers and at least one ring. Stars aligned once, and they lost. They will not be back. 75% of this team is a total rebuild and the coaching staff routinely loses battles of wits with cold mashed potatoes.

Get out. Find a way. You deserve better.

You have an ownership group who:
-votes in every useless manner they can to piss off the NFL. Why would the Bengals be favored?
-refuses to hire an actual coach that can take this offensive talent and win because they are cheap
-refuses to pay for an appropriate number of scouts
-interjects themselves in the draft process
-refuses to hire a qualified GM
-refuses to get franchise players signed
-fails to make any moves to address obvious weakness on the D, including the terrible coordinator

Yes Burrow and Chase should leave. They are too good to suffer through this nonsense. This is the worst run professional organization.

I wish I could quit being a fan—although I am far less engaged than ever before.

What a waste. It’s almost hard to believe they couldn’t build a decent team around those three, but Duke Tobin and the rest of the nepo babies in the FO sure did **** it up royally.

Man, oh man. What I was expecting from this season and what's actually happened. If you told me those stats at the start of the season I would say that we're 8-2 right now at worst. The defense is just so bad, and the coaching is just horrid. The OL has been up and down as well

not resigning needed parts on defense comes to mind. if the franchise can't do even basic things to keep pieces in place. you get this.

No. I said money was his #1 issue. Taking less money helps the team. That’s not an opinion.

It's not like the defense was ever an amazing unit either. We needed to keep Bates. We needed to keep Reader. We just have Hendrickson, and Hilton now (and who knows how long he'll continue to play well). We need improvement at every level of our defense.
