***Week 13 GameDay Thread - Steelers @ Bengals***
(12-01-2024, 06:44 PM)Stonyhands Wrote: Seriously **** that. You give Lou way too much credit. His scheme is absolute ***** garbage. You could have a roster of 11 all pros and they’d still be a sit back 4 rush bend but don’t break garbage defense. He can’t scheme up a pass rush….he’s always been out of his league. Any success that defense has had was with timely turnovers. That’s it. The guy is probably the most unqualified and inept DC in the history of the NFL.

Fair to this point too, when he was hired initially, he didn’t have an exactly fantastic reputation and was kind of a wtf hire by Taylor for DC.

He’s probably doing enough this year to get back in the HOF talks. I don’t think he needs another SB.

Burrow's 4th qtr comebacks and game winning drives are criminally low for someone of Burrow's ilk. I blame Zac he doesn't know how to coach close games.

Bills/Lions Super Bowl sounds fun to me. Just no more Chiefs/Eagles please....

I don’t get this.

I don’t want either of them winning their 1st before us. The Lions were a shitshow a couple of years ago people were laughing at Campbell crying in his press conferences.

I think I’d rather see the Chiefs 3peat it rather than one of those showing us how it should have been done.

Now that I think about it our Defense under Lou just used to make a big play at the right time to bail Lou's scheme out in big games.

That isn't happening and we are seeing how bad of a DC Lou actually is now.

Weekly fire ***** everyone post. If the Bengals had a top 31 defense they’d be Super Bowl favorites. Too much to ask tho

Oh I see that for sure, but the Bills could spoil their plan.

As selfish as it is, it sure is hard having ALL my friends being die hard Bills fans and watching all the excitement and joy of winning.  I got a tiny 2 year taste of that and now it's completely gone.  So damn depressing.

It helps having a competent FO that actually has a scouting department and who hires competent coaches.

Having Burrow, Chase Higgins, etc means nothing when it comes to the Bengals.  Complete and utter dysfunction that will NEVER be fixed.

This game shows how franchises are run, mostly.  We have a #1 overall pick "no brainer can't miss" QB that no one in the NFL ever had a chance of getting and he's having an MVP season and we are 4-8.  Meanwhile, the Steelers sit at 9 wins with a pair of scrapheap QBs, one of which is having his cap-busting salary paid for by the Broncos, no less.

The Lions winning a SB before us would look pretty amazingly bad on us, but as I've said before I don't get the Campbell love/tolerance from Bengals fans mostly because he reminds me way too much of "nonstop scream and cry" Bill Cowher.

I respect the pettiness lol.

I kind of have the same mindset. Not so much the Chiefs 3peat, but seeing the Bills or Lions win it would hurt. Misery loves company and all that.

The Sewell vs Chase stuff would also flare up again and be unbearable.

We wouldn’t have had much time, but I think we would’ve had a better chance to even have a chance. I’ll take Burrow with 30 seconds or even 20 seconds versus the defense with third and four.

There was just less than 1:50 left. If you take the penalty it's 2nd down all over and they basically run out the clock. Declining leaves it at 3rd down and the clock starting at the snap. If they hold then the 4th down play is with 1 minute left. If they get a stop on 4th or they punt Bengals have just under a minute to get a winning TD.

Yeah, at least we handled that part right, our Defense just cannot stop anybody, that is all.

For example it wasn't bad clock management like Eberflus did to get himself fired from da Bears.

Countless injuries, hits, failed Oline draft picks, complaints about the Oline, and false starts later and the Sewell / Chase debate has long ended.

Building a team from the inside out will forever be the key to longevity and consistent success.

Unless you still like arguing over Ford at LT,and what the charts say that is.

I don't know how any fan of any other team would want to watch the Swifty Quief team win it again...
