Burrow bought a Batmobile
#41
Rather see him burn 3M on a supercar that is not street legal, than on a 3M supercar that is street legal with the ability to end his life/career in the blink of an eye.

He is having harmless fun and pricing out Batman suits.

Maybe this becomes his yearly Halloween roll up car to the stadium, as long as it is only driven in the stadium parking lot?

I gotta say, if there’s one thing I’m not impressed with about Joe is the attention seeking behavior with dressing over the top and buying things like this.

I think it’s a product of the culture we live in and his generation.

Psychologically speaking it doesn’t impress me when people are motivated by validation.

But that said, I respect Joe and his right to do what he wants and be himself.

I definitely agree. People are free to do what they want.

Putting myself in his shoes though, I would feel like it’s irresponsible when I could put the money into something more meaningful and useful.

The title of the OP sounds like a Dr Suess book:

Burrow bought a Batmobile
And he drove it to and fro
Every time he left the house
Tee and Chase they did go

Folks they say he spent too much
And worried about his finances
But he paid for it with his hard work
While Chase and Tee did TD dances

The first Batmobile is so much better than the Lincoln Futura.

It was 1940ish Cadillac Convertible.

Haha people whining about how someone spends their own money.
Thinks it’s cool myself. Was hoping it was the old Adam West type but meh The Tumbler would work fine as well.

‘Not street legal’ ***** lol, should’ve bought a Hyundai I guess.

Folks need to also realize it's a display piece and also an attention grabber.

For example, Joe may not be able to attend a food drive or charitable activity like that, but he can send the Batmobile to such functions because it gets people in the door.

There's a wing place in Columbus called Quaker Steak & Lube that has a number of retired NASCAR stock cars, because it gets folks in the door.  A lot of retired drivers open car dealerships and have some of their old cars there for display pieces.  He could have plans for it, business wise.

Seriously.

What's funny is when people think the term "Boomer" is an insult... Hilarious Hilarious Hilarious
I'm not the least bit mad he bought it, his money, he is free to do what he wants with it. I thought he was smarter than this, maybe he isn't, or maybe others are right and it will increase in value. I mean, there has to be a lot of comic book geeks out there who can afford it, right? And BTW, I smoke cigars inside all the time, so wrong on that one as well.

He's decided that fighting the Joker is easier than winning with this defense.

This is true, although he already has a Porsche as a daily driver.

I don't think the concept of clout chasing and materialism were invented in the past decade.

According to SI, McPerson said he heard Joe talking about buying it in the locker room, and Joe and hs Financial Advisor were definitely not on the same page with this purchase.

Really? The guy is worth a quarter billion and some stuffed shirt that's on Joe's payroll is going to give him crap about his $3M novelty investment?

What?  Do you want the guy to drive a Lumina instead?

It's his life and his money.  He should do with both as he pleases.
