Aikman on Burrow
#1
FAvorite player of all time is pretty impressive

Troy Aikman on

@1053thefan
on Bengals QB Joe Burrow: "He, without question, is my favorite quarterback in the NFL, maybe my favorite player of all time for that matter. ... I just love everything about him, especially in today's NFL where you just don't see these types of players. He's an old school quarterback. He could've played in the '90s.

"I don't know if he's the best quarterback in the game today, obviously you've got Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, but (Burrow) throws with anticipation better than anybody currently playing the game."

Winning makes believers of us all

They didn't win and we don't beleive

Terrific quote from Aikman. Probably appreciates his not flopping for calls. And Aikman did a good job on MNF pointing out how the refs were not giving him the calls, even when they were obvious.

Hope he starts riding for more Burrow protection as well. Nice words from him.

I still think OL should be priority #1, even above DL and DB.

Keep Joe upright and clean. We have gone from awful to mediocre, but do not have a stud on the OL yet. Mims has the potential to develop into one is doing OK for a rookie. OBJ & Karras are good to very good in pass pro but poor run blockers. Cappa is declining and Volson is a backup level guy. As is Ford.

Lot of respect for Aikman. Hated him when he was playing (just because he was one of the best) but as an announcer love how he calls games and gives a no BS opinion.

Yes high praise from Aikman and I agree with him on this and a lot of other things.

It's important, but we can't win without a defense.  We can win with a below average o-line (I am not advocating for that BTW)

The reality is that defense is the #1 priority if we want to win anything.  That being said, we can easily fix both.

Not sure how you easily fix this defense.   You need to trade Hendrickson and cut every starter not named Logan Wilson.

I second Troy

Burrow is likely my fave player ever too and i started watching in the Jon Kitna era

He’s got the precision and approach to the game of Peyton Manning but the mobility of a modern QB.

Hes gonna win a ring eventually

Depends on your definition of "fixed".

If you mean improved to the extent that they can win games when the offense puts up 35 plus, then it's significantly less difficult.  They just need to not be awful.

I think they need a new coordinator and a youth movement.  They need some hungry players that are physical and willing to tackle.  That side of the ball needs a change in culture more than anything.  They have no real on-field leader that's holding them accountable.
