At like 6:44 left in the 4th qtr we got the ball back up 10 and had opportunity to close out this crazy ass game. And I remember thinking "please run the ball some and eat clock" PLEASE.
And we came out and pass- incomplete, pass- incomplete, and I was like hells bells they're gonna let em have a chance and with our shower curtain D, oh lord. And we passed again but an amazing play by JB and Tee and we got the first.
Then something amazing happened. We ran the ball on 7 of the next 8 plays, 4 of em under center and actually closed out a game. YIPEEE Next 3 plays Chase Brown ran for 25 yards and made Tennessee burn up their time outs. Then ran it on 3 more plays and Chase Brown got another 1st with a big 10 yard gain.
It made me super happy to see us burning clock running the ball and getting first downs closing out the game. It's a key element we've been unable to do much. Yes it got crazy at the end with penalties, delay of games and confusion but up to that point I was
Next season I'm so hoping we can fix the interior Oline and JB will agree to some under center and more play action. We need the ability to run the ball in situations like this and others.
I'm liking what I see from Chase Brown

What was Burrow and ZT arguing about on the sideline I wonder? Burros was sure using a lot of F words.

Rushing Rank by Yards per game:
Eagles, 1st, 12-2
Ravens, 2nd, 9-5
Wash, 3rd, 9-5
Packers, 4th, 10-4
Bucs, 5th, 8-6
Lions, 6th, 12-2
Cardinals, 7th, 7-7
49ers, 8th, 6-8, in SB last year
Bills, 9th, 11-3
Steelers, 10th, 10-4
That is the fascination with the running game. The only losing record is SF at 6-8 and they were in the SB last year.

I'm guessing of course but I think that may have been about the FUBAR that was the last couple plays. Getting the delay of game and stuff. Again somewhat guessing but play call coming way to late, wrong personnel on field etc. And this incident was far, FAR, from the first time that has happened and it's inexcusable.

I don't get why some don't get it ?????
I've said it time, and time, and time again ad nauseum. It's not about wanting to run the ball 70% of the time. It's not about wanting to return to 1975. It's not about wanting to draft RB's in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds.
It's about adding a usable layer to our offense. It's about being able to pick up 3rd and two with way more regularity. It's about defenses having to worry about something besides pinning their ears back and meeting at the QB. IT"S ABOUT BEING ABLE TO CLOSE OUT GAMES! It's about winning

Having an effective run game does not mean running 70% of the time. It means consistently getting positive yards when running and keeping the defense off balance. The percentage is largely irrelevant.

Joe said it was the sloppy play by everyone, including himself, on offense. He was not pleased, especially with the penalties. He said "we effin sucked". I think Zac was just trying to calm him down/see what the issue was. Joe slung a tablet after the second interception too.
Also, the delay of game penalties at the end were due to headset problems with a few of the coaches. They could hear, but Joe couldn't hear them. Zac said the last one was on him because they had figured it out by then and he should've used a timeout.
If you noticed, Joe came over a couple times to get the play call, and you saw Zac take his headset off and look at it.

Imagine the fun Chase Brown would have if he had a decent interior o-line.
Or the time Burrow would have to throw the ball with that same good interior o-line and a running threat.

It's also learning how to manage 3rd and short in opponents territory and realizing that running twice for 2 yards many times can be more suitable than throwing deep fades that require way too many things to go right.

Or Chase/Higgins off real play action. Or a real 2-way TE.
I'd go hard at guard in FA. Not shopping bargin bin. Get a good one and cut Cappa. It would be #4 on the off-season to do list:
1. Restructure Burrow (+$19 mil to cap)
2. Extend Chase
3. Sign Higgins (or tag)
4. Sign a very good to elite guard
After that, we can worry about BJ Hill, see if DL spending is worth it, or S depending on how Stone/Battle finish, and our other FA's (Hilton, Gesicki, Ossai, Hudson, ADG, etc).

I still didn't like the D just giving up on the Titans last drive. See Germaine Pratt.....

He was pissed at the penalties and himself he said.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

I was at the Jets game I guess 2 years ago and they ran Perine about 8 straight times to kill about 8 minutes in the fourth. The line is blocking better it’s as simple as that.
