Yes. The offense is elite. The defense is reverse elite.

With even an average defense, we have 10-11 wins.

Indy and Miami were both at home.

But I do not have much faith in the Giants or Jags (Indy).

That's an annual ritual. If I had a $1 for every time the HC: Lost the Locker Room, the team has given up on him, we have the worst HC in the League....

I'd have a few dollars

Tonight all but sealed it.

I think colts lose at giants, miami might run table.

Maybe. Falcons crushed them today. Miami has 2 roadies, at Cleveland and at the Jets. Two cold weather games. I think Indy losing is MUCH less likely. But if someone can get a lead on them and shut Taylor down, they are very beatable. But the Giants are tanking for a QB and Jax is for Hunter. Both have backup QBs in.

The run-ins:

Cincy: Denver, at Pitt
Denver: at Cincy, KC
Indy: at NYG, Jax
Miami: at Cle, at NYJ
---------
KC: at Pitt, at Den
Buff: NYJ, at NE

Honestly, I don't see any of this so far fetched. Yeah, some better teams versus poorer teams, but not like it is the Lions vs. Giants mismatches happening. To the point that if all the things we need to happen do happen, it is actually not that shocking. Biggest issue that I see is there is more than one or two games in play. "If, then, but" scenarios suck; prefer win and we are in, funk the rest. Ah, to dream...

Who cares? You think this defense can keep a playoff team on the road under 40 pts?

That’s rich. Just sit back and pay for the stadium renovations for a nepo-org that couldn’t care less about you. Take it like Katie pegging Troy. Learn to love it cuz you ain’t got no agency in the matter.

The slow starts are brutal and costly. Hopefully they figure a way into the playoffs, but the not being ready at the start of the serason needs addressed.

All games are important in this league

Yep. It'd be interesting to see if there has ever been a defence more detrimental to their team than this Bengals D has been. That's not me saying they're the worst of all time, they aren't that, but have many other team's had a year where their offence is as on fire as ours largely has been, and it be so badly nullified by the defence being so bad?

Bengals with a poor defence are probably at 9 wins. Heck, even with as bad as they've been a little luck and we'd be at maybe 8. This season has been the definition of anti-clutch unfortunately.

Anyway, 1 successful week down, 2 to go. Don't we need the Dolphins to lose as well? I'm probably less confident they'll lose a game than I am about the Colts dropping one. They're a bit like us... a team you'd expect to have done better this year. They have the Browns and Jets left to play....

2 starting tackles IR..starting RB IR..Burrow was not nearly 100% first 5 games..Beaucoup number of injuries to many players on defense..Team has played hard and been competitive..you might start dealing with facts rather than throwing teenage tantrums

This defense was bad long before we lost Dax Hill, DJ Turner, Hubbard and Wilson. This defense was bad since week 1. And all these players out weren’t even that good individually. Dax Hill was playing NFL level, but not like he was awesome. Same for Wilson. The rest were below NFL starter level.

The worst thing this front office could do is say, look if it weren’t for injuries we would have been much better. That is complete false.

the front office would love if the team wins out becasue it would mean less work in the offseason. Clearly this team and defense got better as the season progressed. They'll bring everyone back! Isnt that great?

The defense basically allows receivers to be open at all 3 levels.

But, yes statistically they're not the worst ever, or even worst in the NFL. But, they're pretty bad.

This beating up on bad offenses doesn't cover that up.

Yep. They need to infuse more talent into the defense. A #1 CB, more pass rushing somehow.

I guess Detroit didn’t get the memo that injuries are built in excuse to suck.

dude..I make no excuses for injuries 99% of the time..and the organization needs to hire a GM and some more scouts..But this year..this was kamazazied by injuries on both sides of the ball..now that the second stringers and the younger rookies have had a little chance to play together..they looked pretty damn good yesterday

I guess you don't realize that the brunt of Detroit's injuries have happened the last two- three weeks

Explain to me how injuries made the defense worse. Who got injured that would have made the defense appreciably better.

I think 88 year old Mike Brown wants to keep this team in his family and in Cincinnati..I think that with lease negotiations coming up..with players like Burrow  voicing their concerns we may start seeing some definitive movement this off-season..just a hunch..I also think that as miserable a year this has been..some of these young players ..especially on defense have gotten some pretty good reps ...lets hope for the best
