Jenkins started the season having thumb surgery and Jackson was injured in training camp. They couldn't play.

Always too late to fix the problem this team.
The final straw was losing Logan Wilson the defensive play-caller

Yeah, Pratt and ADG are pretty bad at reading Offenses. To be fair, Logan wasn't good this year either and I am the biggest Logan fan there is.

He may have gotten the read right but the young guy couldn't execute

True enough. Logan seemed slow and beat up on top of this this season though. Not what we were used to from a couple years ago when he
was one of the best young Linebackers in the league tackling and getting interceptions.

Has Lou specified what was simplified? Simplified is rather vague, it would be nice to know if they were talking simpler terminology or giving them more specific duties on given calls.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

He is playing much better than I had anticipated and is turning out to be a genius pick! He is a freaking giant and only getting better!

Yep, and to think that many were scared for the team to draft him, because of his limited experience in college.

I get that fear. But the weird thing was that he wasn't raw (like Murphy) despite the lack of PT. His technique and understanding were pretty solid. Nothing was broken. No fixes needed.
I was not worried about him being raw. Now, injury prone? Another story.

The irony he was not injury prone , he had ankle issue that caused him to miss games that was it,

Don't know about prone, but it's never a great sign when a guy gets hurt running his 40 at the combine. Not fair to lump him in, but anytime I see a guy get hurt running the 40 now, I immediately unconsciously think of John Ross and how he ended up going on the IR in 4 of his 5 years.

OK, fragility/health issues. The pro-season is brutal compared to college. If a guy struggles to get on the field in college, it is a red flag.
The irony is that without that issue/flag, he likely goes higher and is gone where we picked.

He's gotten bigger and older. That's a slowing combination.
Not saying he's fat and old, but he started out as a >240lb LB, and he's gone up rather than down. If you look around the All-Pro LB lists (at non-pass rushers) they're all ~230 these days. He's in his age 28 season, will be in his age 29 season next year and that's another thing besides weight that'll take away a step. He needs to cut about 15-20lbs if he wants to keep up with guys running to the edge/sidelines because young fast guys with fresh legs will keep coming into the league every year.
Pratt has the same issue but even more weight and made worse by the fact that he decided he wants to try to be Charles Tillman now instead of tackling.
