Fair Or Foul?!
#1
I'm playing my best friend from childhood in the finals and, on top of the league winnings, we have a side bet of a grand on it between him and I.

He has Jalen Hurts as his only quarterback and he has no backup, so he obviously needed to sign one.

We have a waiver budget and he only had $13, whereas I had 59 and another friend had somewhere around 20, so we went in and put waiver bids of $14 on every good free agent QB we could find, including Hurts' backups..............

Hilarious

He ended up with Cooper Rush.

This could go down in fantasy football Hall of Fame if it works.................

LOVE IT!

We're divided in our group chat because a few of us in our group of friends/league/group chat, have always been traditionally closer, and we say a big part of it is because I won the last title before we changed the settings a little bit, so we call it the Last True Ship, and it pisses off two people in the other group that couldn't win a True Ship.

Divided because the people on our side think it's hilarious and even helped out in it and the dudes on the other side are bitching about collusion!

I'm projected to win by 9.85 now, which would obviously go up if Hurts were to not clear concussion protocol.

James Conner is still up in the air, which I might need him to play so I can sub out AJ Brown in the flex if he's not going to have a QB to throw him the ball.

If only you did it, I would say fair.

If you got your buddy with 20 to do the same, that is a foul in my opinion. If it there was no money involved, it might be a different story, as it is only for bragging rights, which seem to matter less the older I get.

What you do is your strategy, and all is fair game, but getting someone else to go in on it to take away another QB is dirty to me, especially with the title plus a grand riding on it. Imagine if he did the same to you, but got four people involved to freeze you out?

Yeah I misread it and gotta agree with BR here.

If his buddy put in a waiver bid on his own to stay competitive for placing or for potential keeper purposes that’s one thing but if it was deliberately done by someone who doesn’t have shot to keep another player from getting a viable option that’s…not great.

See, it still is about bragging rights with us. I get your point and having a grand extra on it plays a part, but it's still all in good fun.

If my friend was struggling with money or anything, I might feel worse, but he's living in Florida with his wife and kids, so I don't think he's too bad off.

My friend only picked up one other free agent QB, and it was Mason Rudolph, who's barely ranked above Rush, so not that bad.

If he would’ve had to go with Rudolph he’s got bigger problems anyway. LOL

I'm an idiot and thought that the waiver period in our league was three days, so I dropped a few of the QBs I had picked up to pick up even lower FA QBs just to be a smart ass, but now some will be available for him to pick up before the games on Sunday..............

Pissed

My friends put in claims for a few of them, so he'll his best option will be Drake May, which that's not really a big threat, so hopefully I have this locked up!

I got all the good ones anyways, so the QBs my friend picked up wouldn't have mattered anyways.

The good news is that I'm up by so much that it wouldn't have mattered. He's projected to lose by 23.5 and, even if he had signed the next highest QB and started him (unlikely because he wanted Herbert), he'd still lose.
