If ND holds Ohio State under 28 I will be impressed. Even if ND gives up 49 I won't trash the guy. Ohio State has much better players. The body of work speaks for itself though, we've all clamored for new coaching blood and we have finally got it!

Yes, cannot take much from Ohio State kicking your can, if they are playing well they can score tons on anyone. Love the Scott Peters hire and if Golden is the guy I think we will be much better on Defense this year as well. Good things all the way around. We just need a decent Defense and we are right back in the Super Bowl contender conversation.

Lots of chatter about ND being inferior to OSU. We will see how it plays out.
OSU is healthy and ND is not so big edge for OSU. I give coaching HC edge to ND Freeman. They play the games for a reason, the talk ends once the game begins. 2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Does he draw more demand as a college HC? That's a job he's actually had before, so not unthinkable. In that scenario, what is more enticing? NFL DC or college HC?He isn't locking down the Buckeyes tonight. I do think he will be our next DC and I like the pick.

It doesn't always need to be a sack - get the QB moving, obstruct his view, bat a pass, just scare him a bit. Playing man is fantastic if the QB doesn't have all day to throw.

In the NFL they have this thing called the salary cap, unlike CFB where if you have a large alumni base of wealthy donors you can fund the team you want, rather than the team that you draft and pay from that limited cap. ESPN is reporting Dennis Allen may be next Bears DC. I know some were disappointed he was not getting an interview in Cincy.
I think Johnson is a great hire for the Bears, mentor the young QB Williams and if plan is to bring in Allen as a DC, Johnson can keep focus on his expertise offense. 2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. The chicken or egg discussion. The ND corners (best and likely top 15 corner is injured) are very good cover corners. OSU has elite WR's so they may not hold up. But the CBs of ND have developed. Does Golden get the credit or the DB coach or both? CB's are also only as good as the pressure the DL can create. Can ND get pressure on Howard and force quick or bad throws? As a fan, ND has not lost when they won the turnover battle. The ND will be severely tested, they need to figure a way to bend and not break and keep everything in front of them and then get more aggressive once OSU is in the redzone. OSU seems to be in a zone offensively and defensively so major favorites. Riley Leonard will attempt to do his best Allen impersonation, if OSU shuts down his running and the ND running game, he won't beat them in the air. I am hoping for a great game, I love ND, but I also like Ohio State. 2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Still, if you play with such big of a cushion it is just too easy, this needs to stop. Very frustrating and one of the biggest reasons I love moving on from Lou.
