New DC hired?

This is exactly right. Can’t stop mahomes or Allen if you don’t make the playoffs….

Former Green Bay and Bengals DT Mike Daniels jumped in about half way through the Wincinnati Podcast. Great insight to both Al Golden and Jerry Montgomery.

Not sure what to think of this pickup.

Lazy hire?
Brilliant?

We won’t know for another year.

he was probably befuddled he's being rushed only 3 especially with a DL that had very few sacks outside Trey.

Same here, but I'd lean toward compatible not lazy.  As we've seen mentioned, he's a smooth transition system wise yet will change things up from any predictable bend but don't break tendencies.  Firing Lou sends an accountability message (how serious who knows) and Zac is now totally accountable for this hire. He's also seen some of this draft class first hand which may help with the draft.  My biggest take is they talk about what he did with a lot of 3 star types, that speaks volumes to developing young talent...one of our biggest issues specifically on defense.

It could be a great hire I really don’t know.

It’d be nice to have a management team that just went for the most respected and most talented coaches out there first and then work down from there.

I actually liked Lou but he lost a lot of talent.
What did him in is not drafting well.

Was he not totally accountable for the previous hire? Zac and Lou were together for 4 years in Miami, he was clearly a Zac choice.

For sure. Need to just be an overall better Defense that tackles well and doesn't allow all those explosive plays. Getting embarrassed by the
worst QB's sure seemed to be a thing under Lou which was weird with how he did so well against 2 of the best.

Cool, I am happy with the hire. Eberflus was my favorite but evidently he wasn't a fit.

I hope he works out. I do think he will be a very solid hire for improving the draft though. He has first hand insight into the talent out there offense and defense that might have been missing for a while, maybe? Well I hope so.

Probably our best scout.

They also did much better in the second half for what it’s worth.

I don’t know how it will work out for him as DC but you can’t judge him on just that game. I don’t think any scheme could over come that talent gap.

They didn’t do better, OSU tried to run out the clock for 1 1/2 quarters which almost bit them in the ass.

Zac telling Mike Daniels not to practice so hard is kind of frustrating. I hope he’s FINALLY learned his lesson.

Taking the foot off of the gas out of respect to a worthy opponent rarely results in the dominating team losing.
