College Football Season Open Thread.

Here is the Underclassman list for the Senior Bowl.

Side Note: I'll start the All-Star game thread this weekend.

So much for being a SENIOR bowl, eh?

They should rename it at this point.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

The Mullet Mauler Tate Ratledge is the ideal fit for the Bengals at RG and he is a Team Captain. Probably have to take him at #49 though.

I can't wait to see Fannin in the Sr. Bowl. I'm rooting for the MAC players!

And already has a working relationship with Amarius Mims? Hell yeah!

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Tate Ratledge just screams a high floor safe prospect. He's a guy that can start week one as a rookie and it wouldn't be surprising when he's still starting in his mid/late 30s. He's Kevin Zeitler.

So draft him high, let him walk after 4 years, then bemoan it for the next decade?   Ninja

This thread went empty in a hurry.

I don't know about 4 years from now, I am focused on 2 t 5 months from now and off season is a time for optimism for gullible me.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Also add USC RB Woody Marks to that

Darius Alexander (Toledo, DT) from Wayne is worth a look in the later rounds, is somewhat limited but has some pass rush moves.

Lott made a lot of plays against SEC talent, I wonder if we need that type of Dline in the early rounds after who we drafted last year.

Ryan Roberts covers the draft and Notre Dame. He had something interesting to say about Walter Nolen's "character".  After Burton Bengals could be one of those teams.

Quote:Yes, it’s possible that he goes in the first round. It will all depend on how his interviews go during the process. There has never been any questions about his talent. There’s a reason that Nolen was a former five-star recruit.

The major questions surrounding him are effort and character. According to multiple sources, the latter is especially concerning. There are multiple NFL teams that have already taken Nolen off of their board. He is not consistently enough of a disruptive player to have as many concerns as he does. I’m out.

It will be interesting to see how this affects his stock...not to mention if the concerns are bad enough that the Bengals would pass on him if he fell to 49.

I still see NT as a need unless we fill the spot in FA (doubtful).  Darius Alexander, Alfred Collins, JJ Pegues, CJ West, Thor Griffin, and Cam Jackson all interest me, but I don't know if we'll see double teams and run defense in the all-star games.

I wonder what the over/under is on seeing a big dude getting folded up like a suitcase again at Senior Bowl practice this year?

Beaux Limmmer was one of my dudes. He played really well for the Rams this year.

Does he make it to 49??

I've also heard of a Georgia O-lineman that totally manhandled Deone Walker.   Is he the one?   I really like this guy
