Trade Targets 2025
#1
Notable players that have either asked for a trade, being put on the block by their own team , or have been speculated as trade bait.

Cooper Cup ,WR ,Rams , age 32, cap hit 29.8 M, guaranteed money in 2025 5 million- rams looking for trade partner more likely cut

Debo Samuel, WR , 49ers, age 29, Cap hit 15.9 M, guaranteed money in 2025 0- requested trade

Myles Garrett ,E, Browns, age 29, Cap Hit 19.7 M, guaranteed money in 2025 0- requested trade

Micah Parsons,  E, Cowboys,26, cap hit 24 million,  guaranteed money in 2025 24 million-  Cowboys exploring trade possibility

Feel free to add to the list as more players come up.

Kupp can't stay healthy
Deebo is overrated and overpaid
Browns won't trade Garrett to us unless maybe if we vastly overpay

Micah Parsons is a great pass rusher, but gets targeted in the run game and playing him as a DE is a good part of why the Cowboys never have a good run defense. Unless we go to a 3-4, then there's no way we should put a 245lb guy at DE in the AFCN. If we go to a 3-4, then I think Hendrickson is in the wrong scheme because you don't want a 270lb OLB. He also talks... a LOT.. off the field, and might not be a positive addition to the lockerroom. If a multi-time All-Pro heading into his age 26 season is potentially available, there's a reason for it.

If I were trading for a WR that's rumored to be available, give me DK Metcalf. Big physical receiver, has never played less than 820 offensive snaps in a season, never had less than 900 yards in a season, caught plenty of TDs when his QB wasn't Geno Smith so not unreasonable to expect a bump from playing with a good QB. He's heading into his age 28 season.

Heck, Garrett Wilson is rumored to potentially be on the move because the Jets are a clownshow. Three straight 1k+ seasons, over 1k snaps played each of the last two seasons, never missed a game. Heading into his age 25 season.

Evan Neal is a potential trade candidate and while we don't need a T and I wouldn't trust his iffy pass blocking skills there even if we did, if our new OL Coach thinks he can play G with his good run blocking skills, I think it might be worth a try to see if a change of scenery and position helps out a former top-10 pick heading into his age 25 season. If he can make the move, Neal and Mims next to each other would potentially be a roadgrading mountain on the right side.

Also there's always a potential trade for Kyle Pitts at TE (or Mark Andrews in FA if the Ravens do end up cutting him).

One that I've been seeing lately is this one, which I'm staring to like if it has validity:

Titans- Bengals: Jefferey Simmons DT, for Tee Higgins

Simmons is elite and would pair nicely on the Dline with Trey, and is under contract for 23, 25, 28million for the next 3 years. Tee is reunited with Callahan who wants a #1 WR and is familiar with Tee. We then maybe rework Simmons contract for guaranteed money to lower the cap hits to @ 20 per season.

i can't see them getting rid of tee. pretty sure they're going to get something done to keep him.

[Image: smile.png] Not sure about others, but I think Cupp has a March 1 roster bonus of 15 million, so it is 20 million unless he is cut in 2025.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Bengals rarely trade for big money players. I can't remember any they've ever traded for.

The Bengals aren't going after a big name, but in fantasy-GM land I'm giving up many picks to land Parsons.

Why? The Bengals need to stop the bleeding in rushing defense, not add another liability to it..

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

You make a great point here; the Bengals need to go after some big names.

I don't really care about their current level of stardom, so long as they play like unblockable tackling machines.

Eagles NT Jordan Davis makes sense. It would take #49, probably a 2026 pick, and a decent size contract. Davis is getting the Tee Higgins treatment in Philly because they have to pay a premiere DT Jalen Carter soon with several other big contracts on the books.

Because he's a top 5 edge player and nothing effects the QB more than pass rush.  Passing on a modern day Lawrence Taylor because of outdated logic would be puzzling.

If only the Bengals participated in trades....

Parsons, Garrett, and Wilson I think every team would be interested.

A tag and trade with Tee may be able to help snag one of these guys but unlikely.

The Bengals defense has many problems. Excluding Trey, the pass rush was also poor. Parsons is only 25 and an elite talent for his skill set. He has the ability to disrupt offenses by himself. I don't coach, but I offer that if Golden had Parson's talent then it could strengthen, or at least minimize, other defensive weaknesses with the current roster talent.

I like the Jordan Davis, Jeffrey Simmons trade thoughts and TLL brings up a good one in Garrett Wilson if we move on from Tee in a trade.

DK Metcalf is also a nice thought even if he seems to be a bit of a diva, would rather have Wilson who is younger and seems to not be as
much of a diva as DK. A lot to complain about with the Jets this year and unless I missed something I didn't hear Garrett Wilson crying.
