Seems like a solid hire with the past connections with Golden. Also the Rams defense seemed pretty solid last year.

I was just mentioning how there was only 5 defensive coaches. Glad they are still looking. Good to see Al has some connects around the league.

LOVE IT!

We're putting together a hell of a team and a good coaching staff!

If we sign some free agents and have a decent draft, I think we got a good shot at the ship!

Not sure why he didn't stick in either of his stints as DC, but his forte seems to be helping with game planning. Definitely something that the Bengals defense could use a little help with.

If I was on the team, I'd ask him to bring some extra lunch with him each day to practice.

Indian food is bomb.

For sure, he has a really good resume' as far as the teams and Defenses he was on as well. We need some good game planning here on both
sides of the ball. This Sean Desai hire should only help on Defense.

Nate, this changes the draft strategy quite a bit. If we go with more of a 3-4 base with two high shell, then we need a true NT and two OLBs who can rush the passer and drop.

And of course you can't run the Fangio defense without two solid safeties.

It will be interesting to see what we do with Trey extension and Ossai re-signing. I'm not sure Pratt fits in this defense. Can Murphy hold up as a 3-4 DE? Kris Jenkins could really flourish.

I sure like this hire. We do need to acquire personnel to run his defense. I need to look at the prospect list again and keep an eye on the Jihaad Campbell type of LBs and smaller EDGE prospects for the second round. I still want Kenneth Grant in first round.

I say if he wants Trey, sign the fella. Sold piece for a defense, solid pick for an assistant defensive coach. Imagine him having Trey in place already!

The two DL rookies from FSU, Verse and Fiske, wreaked havoc!

We're a 4-down base.

I think that is a little too much change in a short time brother. We would probably have to trade Trey and Pratt and do a lot more if we were
to sniff a 3-4 base. Like you say, bring in a true Nose and a couple pass rushing OLB's. Kenneth Grant is also my favorite pick for us at 17 and
I think he can be a true Nose in a 3-4 but this is a tall ask in one offseason.

Was wanting one of Verse or Fiske myself. Didn't Verse win Rookie of the year?

Yes could be wishful thinking but I'm hoping he was significantly involved in the draft process.

I hate it for FSU that we didn't, at the very least, have the current system in place. If Jordan Travis doesn't get injured they very well could have won the Natty. They were loaded with upperclassmen. Travis, Verse, Fiske, Benson, Wilson, Coleman, were all on that team and all are in the NFL. I know I probably forgot someone, but this was a solid collection of talent.

Right on! I mean, they won that SB, Donald retired, and they almost completely overhauled that defense in two-three seasons! That could bode well for us, hopefully.
