You have practice, position meetings, team meetings, film room, weight room, media, and treatment both preventative and rehab... with breaks, meals, showers, etc, in between. Not counting community outreach and appearance stuff.
It's also not JUST open for the players. It's also open for all the coaches and staff, and keep in mind the physical trainers have to be there before the first player of the day (to get ready) and after the last player of the day (to clean up). We all know coaches work absurd hours.

Well so call me skeptical, but I think the NFLPA report cards have some shenanigans going on. The Bengals consistently grade low on the treatment of families, yet seemingly every player who ever played here or is playing here raves about the Brown's making them feel like they are family and what a great organization it is/was. I have yet to hear a Bengals player complain about the way their family was treated. Part of Hendrickson's statement about why he wants to stay was they way they worked with him and his wife over the last couple of years. I think there is some bias in the reporting....

No excuse for a failing grade on the food service. Players bodies are their livelihood, it should behoove the team to ensure that there are tasteful and healthy meals available to them. If they don't, they're essentially encouraging young guys with money to be left to their own devices, and we all know that young guys with money always make the most responsible choices.
Does anyone have any insight on how the Paycore Stadium cafeteria is set up? Is the staff comprised of in-house employees or do they use some food service company?
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Bengals obviously need help in the area of family accommodation. All of us can do something.
We have a spare bedroom. I will do my part by allowing any girlfriends in town for a game to bunk down the hall.

My guess on food service is who upped their game was the universities and colleges, with food being available all over campuses from different venues.
I could be wrong.. the Bengals may charge for soda like in "Moneyball".

Exactly what we should expect from this franchise.
There are a lot of reasons why this team has never won a ring.
Bengals have a bad reputation, and the Browns could not care less.
FFS, food? They get an F in food? Hospitality? This is not a serious organization.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

A company called Jungle Hospitality runs the concessions. There is no information about them that I could find. I'm sure they are just a cover corporation leasing out the vending space
Catering is provided by Aramark led by head chef Chris Revercomb. But that doesn't mean they are in charge of the player's cafeteria. In various stories about other teams, the players devise an eating plan with the nutritionist based on their body type, position, and health needs. The nutritionist provides these needs to the head chef who develops hot and cold buffets that have something for every eating plan. Most teams provide 3 meals a day plus snacks regardless of practice schedule.
One of the complaints last year was they didn't provide any food on Tuesday which is technically an off day but players are generally expected to be at the facility and that they didn't always provide hot food for all meals.
All hopes turn to next year

I think in prior years the argument was they couldn't take extra Gatorade home...
Cafeteria food has never been known for it's "cuisine". But they should be meals specifically for the players who may not be able to afford private chefs yet.
Seemed like in prior years the argument was they weren't open nights and off days.

Really they don't owe much to the family of the players the players are the employees outside of insurance my job doesn't give perks to family members lol
I am very curious what is getting them these grade specifically. Driving home listening to the radio the guy is a Browns fan and he said part of they're bad family grade was coach families have an area in the stadium to wait but they have a tent setup in the parking lot for players families. So I would imagine the family grade is things similar to this. Taking a few extra steps to accommodate the families and having some outlets available if they need any help during games.

This is insightful. Definitely makes sense that we should be offering 3 meals everyday during the season as players will most likely be in everyday of the week and all hours depending on they're schedules.

The big complaint from the Bengals respondents about the family was there was no place under shelter for families during games. No family room for kids and nursing mothers, and if you recall we had like 8 newborn baby Bengals born in the last off season. Plus families are expected to wait in the parking lot. They also wanted more family-orientated activities like family get togethers.
These are young men with young families and anyone who has been to a game knows the stands can be hostile. Their families put up with a lot The players don't want to have to worry about their wives, children, parents, etc during the game.
Back in the day. not so long ago...the wives had mother hens in Melissa Whitworth and Anna Peko who would take the new wives and mothers under their wings and show them the ropes. There really isn't anyone like that on the team right now. Our most senior player isn't married. Our QB isn't married so it is possible that these women are feeling isolated which their husbands pick up on.
