You guys need to get ready for the possibility that we don’t sign Tee OR Trey
#1
We’ve all seen these offseasons play out.

I got told i was crazy yesterday cause most fans think we’re signing Tee OR Trey but i wanna be the 1st to say it……we ain’t extending EITHER.

If anyone really cares and want to know why i think this i will explain but to me it’s obvious we are moving on from both when their contact ends.

I think both will be back. Why is it so obvious they are not?

I don't necessarily agree but respect your opinion.

Also as a Bengals fan for most of my life I will also say nothing they do really surprises much anymore. Its just Bengal life.

If that happens then its a complete and utter failure by this front office.

for the life of me I cant understand why so many great fans on this "Board: think signing an often  injured player like Higgins to a ginormous contract  is the key to the Bengals survival.IF this team cant find or does not have a receiver that cant run a 12-14 yard route  and catch a football  to alleviate pressure on Chase...then wont dont belong in the playoffs..

Listening to Duke at the combine has me convinced that they are extending Tee and trading Trey.

Playing the age game, it honestly wouldn't be a bad move.

What do you have more faith in, Tee providing strong value to the bengals and leading to more wins, or the Bengals front office savvily tag and trading Tee, using that cap space and draft capital to better further the teams talent? For the life of me I don’t know why anyone thinks the bengals can pull that off.

I was going into the offseason expecting both to depart due to the upcoming big contract for Chase.

As much as I like Hendrickson and Higgins as players and people, I never expected either to stay beyond their current contracts, especially Hendrickson given the age.

The reality though is Hendrickson may end up declining some within the next couple years, but a dropoff from 17 sacks is still likely putting him in the 9-12 range, so he should still be good even if somewhat of a dropoff.

I'm completely ok if Higgins walks this offseason and Hendrickson the next, but I would hope they would use some of the cap savings to backfill them with near-replacement level or good veterans at other positions while trying to backfill them in the draft. I realize that's a gamble, but teams (have to) take gambles like that sometimes.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I'd withhold judgement until I see the trade packages and the multiple first round picks in 2025 and possibly 26...

They’re not getting multiple 1st round picks for either of them. Both players would only be on a 1 year deal.

You think they can get 1 for either? Each?

If not then this is a moot point because they aren't going anywhere.

These two are our best trade assets since Palmer, at positions nearly equally as important in this day and age as QB....

Maybe we should look at the trades for wideouts in the last couple years again to see where the top FA in the offseason would fall....

Same with pass rusher trades and see what the league sack leader would fall.

I'd try to trade both to a NFC contender and pick up a 1st if you can.

If Chase is really going to get near 40 Mill APY then you have to spend your resources elsewhere.

Sorry Joey Burrow but you don't need two #1's if you are who you say you are. His numbers back it up without Higgins so I'm not concerned losing him.

Well at least we are past the years where people suggested we offload our garbage for 2nd and 3rd round picks. Those posts were always fun.

I'll be happy if the Bengals sign both at a fair price. I also won't lost sleep if they trade them if their demands are too high and I believe both can easily fetch a first round draft pick which I would gladly take. I love Tee but his health concerns me. I love Trey's leadership but I feel like he's a one trick pony and if he is truly wanting $30MM per at his age, no thanks.

Please explain

I would not be shocked if we tag and trade Tee. I would be shocked if we trade Trey.

Hasson Reddick was traded for a conditional 3rd that could be the 2nd with some performance targets. I think Trey could potentially get you a really late 1 or an early 2nd.

In terms of Tee, more rumors this week at the combine is Tee isn't worth to a lot of teams what he wants so I think his new deal hurts his value. I think you are looking at maybe a mid to late 2nd and a future 4th or 5th.
