Myles Garrett just got paid...

I'll still hold out hope that we pull out a miracle and at least get Chase signed and get value back from trading the other two.

Positive vibes only.

We moved to Florida when I was 5. And my loyalty has not wavered. And it’s an expensive loyalty. I go to every game I can and have spent thousands in sports bars or on direct tv just for the ability to watch.

Nothing is ****** yet. But it’s getting there. And this would just be too much. It’s silly to keep whining about the brown family when we keep barfing up money to them. It’s no longer them. It’s us.

Ah, thanks Nepa. Well that changes things. Going to have to go more than 4 years 160 million then.

The FO messed up but they can still get it done. I am not jumping off the cliff like others already have.

I will always be a Bengals fan. The Browns paying Garrett tons doesn't change this for me lol

The browns overpaying Garrett in and of itself is not a problem for the bungles. Indirectly, again, it becomes one bc Tobin already told God & the world that Chase would be the highest-paid non-QB. So we either don’t extend him or we do, at an amount significantly higher than they could have 8 months ago and even higher than it would have been yesterday.

This, of course, leaves less money to go around elsewhere, which means it’s highly likely there’s no Tee.

But yay draft picks, right? Yeah, ‘cept this franchise can’t draft.

Maybe they pull it off. We’ll see. There is no historical precedent that suggests they will.

Yes, said so last year before the season that Ja'Marr was going to be the best WR in the NFL and we were going to have to pay him more
than Justin Jefferson, well, looks like a lot more now as Duke said what he said. Big mistake after mistake here with Ja'Marr. I still think they
get it done with Ja'Marr and I think Trey comes back and signs the 32 mil offer we evidently gave him but he refused, but all of this could of
been handled much better.

What the Stains do wouldn't normally change what we do except Duke said what he said and he has to hold to his word now.

4 years 168 million for Ja'Marr sounds closer to what we will be seeing.

Other players take note on what happens on other teams. Bengals draft you, you are pretty much trapped, but if you are a FA, seeing everything definitely factors into a decision. People fall in many directions with Tee, but Trey and Chase have been ballin' out for years yet the Bengals never raced o lock them down.

Clown ass organization.

Like I have said, I'll wait to pass judgement on the front office, until after the draft but it does seem like their procrastination may cost them a pretty penny and possibly some of our talented players. I'm just going to wait and see how it all plays out.

Definitely an expensive loyalty but, like I typed, I just can't force myself to roll away.

I do admire that you've remained loyal, especially with the Bucs having the Super Bowl success of the Bucs in 2003 (if you're old enough to have been down there for that) and then a few years ago.

It's hard because, with other struggling sports franchises, at least they're trying to win and usually at least make an effort, but, while we have gotten better, there's still times like these for us.

I don't think I can force myself to ever lose hope and roll off the proverbial cliff, but it is getting tough.

Every time I think about quitting, I just think about pregaming Sundays downtown and then rolling into the games and cheering.

I think just losing the love of my life (playing football) makes me more attached because it keeps the love and feelings more alive.

I agree. If we can knock out the draft and bring in a few decent FAs, I think we'll be fine.

I don't think losing Tee will hurt us as much as everyone thinks because we have Burrow and Chase. Hendrickson would hurt losing but this site shows that defensive ends' play starts to fall off after age 30 or 31, which Hendrickson will be 30 in October(?), and couple that with the stat I posted earlier in the thread that 7 of his sacks came against teams that had bad o-lines and injuries on the o-lines, and I don't think that he'll be worth the money he'll demand.

Remember when RB's were the highest paid non-QB? It wasn't until this became a passing league that it switched to WR. Is it possible we are seeing a shift again? I doubt it, just recognizing it. It's the Browns FFS!

As for Hendrickson, you would think we learned our lesson on Whitworth, if we are not paying the man because of age. The dude is straight out balling right now.

The Bengals should have got the Chase deal done as soon as they were out of the playoffs. Instead they wait and wait and wait. Meanwhile other teams sign their guys and each player tries to up the next in highest contract. Crosby wants to be the highest paid non QB he gets it. Garrett wants to be the highest paid non QB he gets the money and the top end keeps rising. Now the Bengals are looking at 40+ million a year to sign Chase. I dont know what it is Katie and the rest of the front office doesnt understand. When you wait and let everyone sign before you, you let other teams dictate the top of the market. Unbelievably stupid and inept Bengals management.

Trey is definitely gone. They might not even sign Chase now either, remember Tobin saying he sold be the highest paid non-QB? LOL
I seethus as another dumb move up north, why they finish last most years..

So a team that wanted Garrett, now might turn their attention to Trey. Imo, this means the Bengals can have a higher asking price.
