Good Morning Football mentioned that the Steelers have the best chance at landing Aaron Rogers.
Steelers fans want him? Can he put together one more season and help the Steelers to at least one winning season?
I say no and the Steelers will be a bigger dumpster fire with him.
Do Steelers fans want him?

Wonder how much money he’d get. Steelers haven’t had to pay a QB for a while now.

So far it’s just media speculation, which isn’t exactly the best way to predict these things. I’d be very surprised if it happens, but then again, I never expected them to get Wilson, either.
Also, I’d be careful of calling the Steelers a dumpster fire, since they finished well ahead of your team in the standings for the second year in a row, even with a mostly healthy Joe Burrow this time.

WE started very slow and still almost made the playoffs.
Every power ranking that I've seen for next season has us well ahead of the Steelers.
Apparently, most of the Steelers players don't even want him!
Quote:Some Steelers themselves aren't on board with the Rodgers idea, either. Safety DeShon Elliott shared his thoughts on the matter, replying to the odds with, "Leave his a** at the retirement home."
Actually, I hope they do sign him!

Unless the Steelers want to continue going in Reverse, my magic 8 ball says "not likely". The Bengal fan in me certainly hopes that they take the bait..
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

LOL - I hope they sign him. Should lead to Tomlin losing his streak.

To respond to each point individually:
We finished very slow and still DID make the playoffs.
Every power ranking that I saw for THIS season had you well ahead of the Steelers.
The players not wanting him is something you can celebrate if they sign him. Which they won’t.
Fortunately, the Steelers don’t give a darn what you want.

Thanks for the clarification because I wouldn't have realized that that's what you're doing without you pointing it out

Including the playoffs, you lost your last five games.
We lost some close games early and finished strong, meaning that the that our arrow is looking up, unlike yours.

Like I said, we lost some close games early and finished strong, which means we're still on the upward trend.

SteelersDepot thinks it's a possibility, as of a few hours ago.

This morning it sounds like AR will be a Steeler. If he somehow brings Adams along, with him and DK, it is going to be problematic for certain!

He had Adams and another top 20 receiver at the Jets and he was awful there. He'll be awful with the Steelers.....he's just a shadow of what he was and he has no interest in TEAM, just himself. He only gets gigs on ego and reputation.

They were talking about it again this morning on GMF and I'm just sitting in my wheelchair and praying to the crippled gods that they sign him, especially without Adams!
It will be another stupid move by that declining franchise!

I’m not a fan of the move, but the stupidity of it depends on their level of financial commitment. If they sign a deal that locks him into being “the guy” for the next several years, then yeah, that’d be dumb. He clearly isn’t “the guy” at this point. But the reality is that, given the options available to them right now, it’s not likely they’ll find a long-term resolution to their quarterback situation this off-season. If they sign him to get him through the next one or two seasons before they find themselves in position to either sign, draft, or trade for “the guy”, then it’s not necessarily a bad move in the long run, even if it proves enjoyable for you in 2025. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

I thought you all did well with Wilson. Surprised you didn't bring him back.

I get your point but, like you and Stewy mentioned, I don't think Wilson did too bad and there had to be other short-term options that are better than what Rogers can offer, or someone worthwhile is bound to get cut.
NFLDraftNetwork has you trading up to five to get Sanders, but I think he'd need to sit for a year or two behind Rogers or whoever.
Plus, would you be mortgaging your future to move up and give up other picks that could be beneficial to a rebuild?
You always do seem to find a way, though, so I won't get my hopes up until it officially gets bad.

There are now rumblings that the Steelers have come to an agreement for Mason Rudolph to return, maybe to be a backup to Rodgers. But I would actually be okay with Rudolph as our starter. Not that he is “the guy” by any means, but I do think that, like Rodgers, he could be the guy to get us through a season or two. The reality is that they’re not going to be major contenders again until they find a franchise QB, which I don’t think will be this year. Best case scenario is another year of a winning record and either a one and done or a win-one and done in the playoffs. But I’m okay with that, as I think that’s probably a realistic ceiling until they find “the guy”. So, while I don’t think that either scenario will lead to a championship, I will not panic with either Rudolph or Rodgers starting.
