If Jenkins signs w/Seattle the refrain will still be “stop crying! we’re only 4 days into FA! Lots of good guards left!!”
“tbh I never really liked Jenkins, he’s not that good” “shut up we can get guards in the draft!” “not our fault no one wants to come to cincy”

Risner has ties to our passing game coordinator. One of the reasons I thought maybe they'd sign him last offseason.

They have a QB on a rookie deal. I didn't think they would need to make moves for financial reasons. Especially to a position like LT..... I don't know what Houston is up to or doing. They've decimated their Oline.

Why else would you trade your best OL? https://overthecap.com/player/laremy-tunsil/4726 https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/houston-texans/cap/_/year/2025 Chiefs traded Thuney also to get cap relief. These teams did not think the salary was a value any longer.

Does the contract dictate good or does his past performance? His numbers are far better than Cappa, Volson and Ford. https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/vikings/2025/02/24/2025-nfl-free-agency-projected-value-of-dalton-risners-contract/80839071007/ Risner is an above-average pass blocker, receiving a 76.2 grade from PFF last year. However, he's a below-average run blocker, getting a 57.4 grade from them in 2024.

Scherff would be a good bridge candidate as you say and Matt Lee at Center might be in the cards while moving Ted to LG. Makes me feel a little better about not getting 2 Guards. Just cannot have Volson or Ford starting, period.

I’ve been thru this w/the bungles more times than I care to count. It’s more of a sad lament. And it’s causing me to make a decision as to whether or not continuing to ride this train is worthwhile. They have a bigger opportunity to win a SB now than they ever have before, yet they’re content to waste our stars prime years with an abundance of frugality, incompetence and passivity. As to which ones would be considered “good,” I’d be fine with Scherff and possibly Risner. Far from great but both would be upgrades to our current fixtures.

I know most do not view it thisxway, but we have signed 4 defensive FAs, 3 9f whom are DL: Hill, Ossai, & Slaton. Plus Burks to replace ADG as LB3. We spent $24 mil on the d-line. Nice breakdown Ike. Agree that we can still make the moves to salvage this Offseason. The Draft will be Defensive heavy as that is the strength of the Draft and our needs with a new Defensive staff. Bring in a Guard, extend our guys and it isn't so bad.

Now, if someone wants to make a Herschel Walker or Ricky Williams lopsided trade offer? Sure, OK. But we are not interested in a fair trade for Trey. Only a super lopsided one. Whoa...this thread taking a turn to kinky town lol
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward. Sorry for Party Rocking! ![]()

Didn't I say they traded him because his value took a dive? They dumped him because he made too much money for just a good OT in my humble opinion. Also, they would have not signed or be forced to cut other players to get under the cap the first day of the league year (Wednesday the 12th at 4 p.m.). I provided the factual info on their cap space. Did you look at it or just want to argue?

Cool, but I am pointing out that money was not the primary reason... they could always make more cap space if they wanted to, just as they did when they traded for Christian Kirk on the 6th and then just today converted his base salary into a signing bonus with void years to clear up $11.46m in cap space and they could do the same with other guys if they wanted to. https://texanswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/texans/2025/03/12/nfl-toxic-draft-houston-texans-laremy-tunsil-trade-mmqb-kenyon-green/82308845007/ https://houseofhouston.com/concerning-texans-locker-room-report-surfaces-amid-free-agency-01jp86xr7kq1 https://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/3239812 https://fanrecap.com/texans-blow-up-offensive-line-after-locker-room-issues/ The trade was about the new OL coach fixing/setting the culture, not money. If you want to call me pointing that out as "just wanting to argue" then sure. ____________________________________________________________
