Yeah, you're right. Let's keep putting square pegs in round holes, just so people will have something to complain about.

Isn't that exactly what Volson and Ford "competing" for starting spots is?

You don't get it, how about we try to avoid that mistake again by taking someone that doesn't fit.. We have no clue if Volson or Ford are competing for starting spots or do you have inside knowledge?

Still inching? No new news in the last 2 DAYS?

So surprising...

I wonder if it's because the Bengals are cheap and they will try to wring every single penny they can out of a contract?

Maybe i'm wrong. Who know? Maybe it always takes a week+ to finalize a contract.

How the hell are we not going after any guards?

I realize that we're working hard on these other three contracts, and I know we only have around 5 front office workers, but make one of their only jobs to be to find a guard to sign!

Hoping we can draft a starter and hoping for a quality player to get cut isn't the secret to building a successful team!

They'll probably announce it during the week I'd guess.

A consequence of 3 players making $125 million and Trey needing paid more is...you have no cap space for other positions.

We need a starting safety and slot corner too. Really a starting cb. Plus Pratt situation. And a starting DE to replace Hubbard. Maybe a kicker too.

I'm trying hard to remain optimistic....but it's very hard. Perhaps they're about to pull a rabbit out of their hat and fool us all??

Honestly, like I said in another post...I want all 3 players, but it's going to be near impossible to build a SB team with those cap hits.

So we'll be fun to watch, but probably not win a SB.

Their APY is not the number that will be used for cap purposes. It will be much lower for at least the first 2 years.

If Golden can get the Defense even mid-tier we can win a Super Bowl with Joe Burrow and these guys. But we need a Guard in front of him first.

I know we can move Ted to LG and Matt Lee can play Center, but we still need a RG after cutting Cappa and a Draft pick is never the answer as a
rookie. Neither Volson or Ford are starters from what we have seen. The FO must have a ton of faith in our new OL coach Peters.

You continue to spread propaganda. See my post in your 125 million dollar thread. You keeo making assumprtions based on themaximum APY per player. The APY needs to be based on cash due at signing (guaranteed portion) because these contracts are not 100% guaranteed.

If you don't believe explain how the MaHomes cap hit is less than 30 million many years after he signed an extension for an APH of 45 million per year. It is because he keeps getting base salary converted to bonuses and extended to later years and also add void years to his contract.

The Bengals can manage the cap and it does not require cash, it requires void years being used to push cap to later years.

Bengals have not used the same methid Bills, Chiefs, Eagles and Ravens have used as much as they did. But, they can because they don't have a ton of money allcoated in 2026 and beyond.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

TY, someone else that understands.

It is cash guaranteed at signing and not full contract potential dollars that is used to calculate cap.
