We will sign a guard I am pretty confident still. They don't view DT as a need other than maybe a late flyer guy.

Even if we sign a Guard it'll be a 1 year bandage. We'd still need to draft the future starter. And we'd still need to draft one if we are only signing 1 FA guard.

Same with Hill who may take over the slot, but are we picking up his 5th year option? If not we still need the future starter.

All is great as long as the plan works. If it doesn't. The "I told you so" card is in the hands of the FO. How will fans react?

Question?

Does that put pressure on Burrow?

I think somewhat so.....like you pointed out, he made it known this is what he wanted. Most fans won't acknowledge it, and will blame the FO and Zac.

That would suck given the DT class. I still think they need a 3t....

Yea, I think we sign one (Guard) and draft one. Probably in the 3rd if I had to guess. Rookie will battle with Ford/Volson for spot opposite FA.

No. They guy couldn't put more pressure on himself. It isn't like he isn't already hyper focused and obsessed.

I think if Trey is reasonable and undestands he has no guarantees at all and team has him for 16 million in 2025 and can tag him for 25 million (again not guarenteed he does not get hurt in 2025 negating the tag need in 2026, they should get a deal done.

If I am Bengals, no way I guarantee a soon to be 31 year old a huge guaranteed contract as they have other less exensive options to retain him.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Joe will be under pressure because they did not improve the interior o-line...

That's on him. He didn't call for that....

I am happy the wait is over, but believe the Bengals over paid for a WR who cannot stay healthy.

They need to get help on the interior o-line.

I hope this does not hamper that process.

Currently the Bengals have good back ups at guard, but no proven starters.

There's a loooooot of smoke on social about Trey getting close to being done. A few Bengals defensive players have posted some cryptic messages around it. I wouldn't be shocked if this news drops soon.

Im dead

I believe in drafting. I don’t believe in the Bengals drafting.

Geno was just an example of a HOF type player the Bengals have drafted. They drafted Jesse Bates and many other good defensive players
as well. To act like it is impossible for them to draft good players is just ignorant and shows you are pretty much dead, brain dead that is.

DE us thinner. Trey + Ossai + Murphy is 3. Sample & Johnson are both signed. I'd say one of those guys is #5. #4 is probably a pick.

That said, we've kept 11 DL before. And Campbell can certainly play inside out. Though he was more of a DT, run stuffer last year.

Ossai had 5 last year, he should do better easily with more snaps. Hill should get 4+.

It is a pretty good DT/DE draft.

Yeah it seems like an edge pass rusher as opposed to a true DE is amongst the BPA picks from these simulators if that means anything.  If Golden has a plan to use one of these undersized rushers in his defense they could make an impact this year depending on development.

They'd get good value at DT in the mid rounds but yeah I wouldn't be surprised if they went somewhere else as long as they were amongst the BPA per round.  Something like guard and safety and maybe even LB.

This FA year been very lackluster.

Extending current guys is great, but keeping them just helps keep from getting worse.

About the only upgrade is Slaton, but that's only for run defense.

I don't see this team currently being better than a 11-win team.
That would get to the playoffs, but I don't have confidence in getting back to the AFCCG or Super Bowl, which should be the goal.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
