Mods, I apologize if this should be in the fantasy football forum, but it's about the outlook on Chase's season, so I figured that it fits here.
Ja'marr is ranked as the top overall player this season in DraftShark's rankings, which I guess it isn't that big of a surprise that he's ranked as the top receiver given that he won the Triple Crown, but to be ranked as the top overall player is pretty cool, especially since Lamb is the only other receiver in the top five.
You have to imagine that, with an improved offensive line, he and Burrow could put up some very big numbers.
Higgins is ranked 19th overall and the 11th best receiver.
Burrow is the 5th ranked quarterback and in the top tier.
Chase Brown is the 14th ranked running back.
Gesicki is the 22nd ranked tight end.
McPhearson's the 4th ranked kicker.
It doesn't have team defense yet but Trey is ranked as the 7th best defensive lineman.
It's the offseason and there's not a lot going on, but those are promising rankings!

I mean he won the triple crown of receiving last year. That racks up a lot of fantasy points.
I've had Higgins 2-3 times on my teams and he does ok...when he plays. But, didn't really move the needle on my teams.
I don't know that McPherson is the 4th best kicker.
I don't know that we can say our offensive line is improved.
The rest seems about right.

Burrow was 1st in passing yards, 1st in TDs, and was like 5th or 6th in INT% (trying to get a quick ranking of INTs is hard). Granted Lamar may have slightly better stats when factoring in rushing, but 5th? That's still too low for Burrow, imo.

"with an improved offensive line" is a refrain sung here every preseason since '21.
It hasn't rang true yet.

Hopefully I get 1st overall this year, so I can FINALLY get him on my team.
I've had Higgins and Joe every year since they came into the league, but have missed out on Chase every time. Would love to have all 3 together.

I think Burrow should be ranked higher than the 5th QB after the season he just had.

Make sure you definitely dont let us all know if you 'FINALLY' get him. Promise me that, at the very least.

Bla don't put this bad juju on Joe Burrow. I'm going to have to pick up some whiskey for JoBu later now.

It's fantasy football...so it's on fantasy points.
2024:
Lamar had 430 points this past year.
Allen 2nd.
Burrow 3rd.
Baker Mayfield 4th.
Jayden Daniels 5th. (I'd assume they think he'll produce more this year.)
Looks like they have Lamar, Allen, Daniels, and Hurts above Burrow. Makes sense as those guys all get yards on the ground.

Yep. We've done very little. Signed Patrick who is a journeyman. Also drafted the guy from Georgia that may eventually be a good lineman, but I don't know about rookie season.

I end up with Higgins a decent bit too. Results are a mixed bag.

Obviously, especially with an improved line, but we're the Bengals and they'll do everything they can to discredit us.
Normally, I'd be excited because it might mean I could snag him with value in a round early, but we're in the area so someone is bound to take him as the first or second quarterback off the board and earlier than even the projected top quarterback.

You definitely got a good point here.

If I wasn't a Bengals fan, I would probably go with Barkley number one overall if I had the pick. But that's the old fantasy school in me, going with running back first overall, from the pre-internet fantasy days.
But yeah I'd go with Chase number one too. It's not often Bengals & other teams have a top-tier elite fantasy player.

I started early 2000s and I always went running back for my first two picks for years (longer than I should have).
Now, I have evolved and generally go with tiers, so it's typically a receiver or running back first, but I still like to snag a back somewhat early (as long as there's one worthy) and then pick up a few later because running backs usually give you consistent points with the ability to always score at least one TD, even if they're not the best, whereas a receiver in the lower tiers won't do a lot of good, besides for a few big games.
Speaking of old days, I remember when you could draft someone like Jerome Bettis (I never did) because he might get like five carries a game for twelve yards but two of them would be for touchdowns because they'd vulture goal line carries.
I think Barkley's the #2 pick behind Chase, especially with an improved o-line for us.

Your dreams
your golf hole/shot replays
your stupid fantasy teams.
