Reds July 2025 Thread

I'm sure Burns was hoping for longer than an 11 pitch 3 K inning as his breather.

Nice 8 pitch inning! That's a real nice bounce-back from the first two inning struggles. Might actually be able to go 5 now and not completely tax the bullpen.

0-10 RISP, 10 LOB for the Phillies... the fact that this is a tied game is a minor miracle, and I will take it! Lets see if we can win a game with 2 hits and 0 walks. Lol

CES is damn lucky he didn't cost us the lead with that stupidity.

Good thing Hays left the yard. This definitely had the makings of a no-no or perfect game.

1 to 1 going to end of 8th. Wheeler at 100 pitches now. That should be it for Wheeler. Maybe Reds can win the battle of the bullpens.

Thank you Hays from keeping this from being extra embarrassing. One pitch away from a perfect game.

Wheeler never pitched from the stretch that game.

Reds are not The Dodgers, so Reds better play well, or Marlins and Rockies will beat them.  Reds need to get after them.  I don't think Terry Francona will take these teams lightly. He knows any team can beat you. Red having Terry Francona might keep them from not taking these teams lightly.

Well the Phillies are a top shelf team, so I can't be really mad. Hopefully they can gain some ground during this 7-game home stand.

EDLC is the only Reds player on the NL all star roster. Not sure why Abbott didn't make it.

Best I can tell is Dave Roberts is the NL manager and Matthew Boyd pitched against the Dodgers twice this year, both quality starts.

Otherwise it's just a good old fashioned snub.

Probably didn't help that Boyd's last start was 7 innings 2 runs and Abbott's was 3.1 innings 4 runs. (Abbott still deserved it over him though.)

First off don't get me wrong, I have no illusions that this is a World Series Club. But I'd love to see them get a W.C. birth and make some noise.

And if there's to be any hope of closing ground up in the 2nd half of the season, they need a strong surge, NOW! The Cubs are on 6 game road trip vs. Twins and Yankees. The Brewers are vs. Dodgers.

So I'm hoping they can pop out a 6-1 or at least 5-2 Home stand vs. these so-so and awful teams and set themselves up for a post ASB run. They're not that far off WC pace, lets roll.

Same as 2023. Heck, same as always. Not going to get any help to actually make a push happen. Just going to sit put and see another .500-ish season while we look at our prospects as if they're all going to turn into superstars.
