After all the contract issues signing our best Defensive Player in Trey and then mix in the Stewart drama, plus the non factor Free Agents signed on the D
Are Bengals betting on JB and the high paid $$$ Offense to just out score everyone like a modern day Air Coryell?
I dont think Al Golden can magically make lemonade out of mostly lemons.

If Al Golden can do that, he will get a NFL head coaching job.

The new coaches will have to be good at their job. I think Trey will get extended in time for the regular season at the very least. Ossai shown
he is a decent pass rusher last season, Murphy has lost the weight that slowed him down last year, Kris Jenkins and McKinnley Jackson should
grow in their second season. We finally addressed NT with Slaton.

I like our Linebackers and Secondary, Logan when healthy is damn good, Burks is a nice addition along with Knight and Carter.

Dax, DJ, Fig, Ivey and Marco were all good last year. Battle over washed up Vonn should be much better. Stone played better as the season
went on, but he is my biggest question on Defense. We will see how the coaching goes, CTB said he already feels much better about the
coaching and picked off Burrow in OTA's.

Not a lot of people are talking about the safety and guard situation but you have to think there is a lot of unproven depth.

Lou turned them into lemons with a complicated scheme.

Al will turn them back into lemonade with a much better scheme.

There has been a lot of high draft picks on defense they just need pointed in the right direction.

It is getting close to football time, and I am more excited to see this defense then the offense.

I wonder if Lou's style (mad scientist with some schemes that trusted the players more to be self-motivating and self-correcting) worked better in the playoffs whereas Al Golden's might be more of a "execute well and we'll hold you accountable for doing your job" regular season defense. Both styles can take you far. Also I could entirely wrong.

It's not going to be just "Air Zac." The coaches now have full confidence in Chase Brown running the rock, and I am excited to see what Tahj brings. With the return of Perine to hammer the ball, I expect the ground game to be a huge part of the offensive plan and not just Burrow forcing it to Chase and Higgins and Gesicki. When you think about what our offense is lining up with this year, if everyone stays healthy, it ought to be a scoring machine.
