The best car you ever had...my 1998 or 2008 Accord Coupe V6 which i still have today. knock on wood its been very good to me. I'm a diehard Wolverine fan and both those cars were built in Columbus Ohio....so a big thanks to those Buckeye fans (I'm sure there are a few working in that plant)
The worst car...i had a 1986 Ford Taurus. what a POS.
Your first car...that same Taurus
Brand loyalty...Honda
The cars your parents had when you were growing up...my Grandfather had a 1979 Cutlass Supreme and my mom a 1977 Maverick. I had to give up the Cutlass. Hope to have the luxury of getting that car back one day (the cutlass)
The road trip I took in my...first big road trip was the rock and roll hall of fame...took my buddies cutlass and i don't remember the year...it might have been an 87 or 88?
I learned to drive in a...Chevette...1982....in a shopping mall parking lot on a Sunday when malls used to be closed on Sundays.
I would never drive a...stick shift.
My first brand new car...1998 Accord Coupe V6. liked it so much i bought a brand new 2008 accord coupe
My funniest car story...Driving around the hooker stroll here in a Ferrari with my buddy...the prosties would approach us at every light because they saw the dollar signs. then i think they realized its a 2 seater and neither of us was going to ride in the trunk while the other was being entertained by a hooker.

Best car ever....'98 Integra Type-R with after market supercharger. Weighed less thasn 2700 lbs. Had about 260 HP. Engine revved to 8500 RPM. It was front wheel drive, but still fun as hell to drive.
Worst ever.......early '80's Dodge Charger. Total piece of shit.
First car......1969 Firebird convertible I bought in 1979 for $450. It was a junker. My dad rebuilt the rear fenders and painted it. We put on a new roof, sport mirrors, new carpet, and transmission. The only problem was that it just had a 6 cyl engine. It looked good, but was very slow.

My funniest car story...
The best car you ever had... I still have, my 1990 Honda CRX. The chassis has almost a half a million miles, and the engine probably would too, if it hadn't been "submerged". It ran for nearly two years after that incident, and burnt a ring. It was cheaper to get a junkyard Civic engine and drop it in (in my driveway in two nights) than to tear the old one down.
The worst car... is ironically my favorite. It was a 1985 Buick Somerset Regal T-Type. Sumbitch would fly. I lowered it about 6" to improve its handling and stance. It was solid black, like the Grand National Regals of the era. I had all of the badging, with the exception of one tiny "Buick" at the bottom corner of the grille, removed when I had it painted. It was metallic black, blacked out grille and headlight bevels. The only chrome left on it were the parts of the bumpers that weren't covered, the trim around the doors/side windows, and a touch of accents on those "Millenium Falcon" looking tail lights. It had an understated set of high polish aluminum 5 star wheels. A sleeper, and nothing audaciously lowrider about it....except for the 1000 watts of power lurking in the trunk. Ultra comfy crushed velour seats in that thing too. However, there were a shit ton of first gen electronics and bells and whistles....electrical nightmare, all of the time. The only mechanical issue, and it was an expensive one, was a teflon timing gear that stripped at speed....making a mess out of the heads. Man, after new valves, polished ports, shaved heads, and the rev limiter removed, damn thing would really move though. A lot of good times cruisin and burnin a few in that whip provided a lot of good memories in it however.
Your first car... a 1985 Blazer....what a piece! Damn thing was a 4 speed 4WD that backfired between most shifts....lol. Was fun in the mud though. I drove my folks' Maxima for a bit, but the Blazer was my first.
Brand Loyalty... never really had any, until I racked up 200k on my Dodge Dakota, and the aforementioned CRX. So, I guess I'll roll with those, and the current family car is an Accord. I had several VWs too, but since they started building the Jettas in Mexico, the electronics are shit. My '91 Wolfsburg was killer, the '98, and the '02? Not so much....although the '02 turbo was fun as shit to push to the limits. Very fast 4 banger.....
The cars your parents had when you were growing up... damn....where to start. The ol' man was quite the horse trader. My first memories are of a early to mid 70s Mercury Grand Marquis two door, a '66 Mustang (that my brother would go on to total), and about a '70 GMC C Series pickup. There was a '68 Olds Delta 88, a '76 Chrysler Cordoba, an '83 Coupe De Ville, an '84 Nissan Maxima, a '92 Camry, and a '96 4Runner, although I was in college then....a late 70s Ford Courier pickup (that I totalled at 8 yo), a mid 80s Chevy S-10, a mid 80s Jeep CJ-7, a mid 80s Chevy cube van, and a mid 90s Ford Ranger.
Car stories... (I may revisit this one)
The rode trip I took in my... '85 Buick with a couple of buddies became affectionately referred to as "the never ending bounce".
I learned to drive in a... 1984 Nissan Maxima, then in an '86 Toyota King Cab pickup 5-speed to learn stick. I had driven go karts, motorcycles, and tractors prior....
I would never drive a... "Smart Car" or Yugo.
My first brand new car... I still have....my Dodge Dakota. It's hard to let go of a vehicle that has been a part of many good road trips and has been largely trouble free, plus, I like it.....and it's paid for. :)
My funniest car story... is a toss up between my dad's truck, and the submerging of the CRX. I'll go with the truck. My friend and I were playing army, and we had jumped in the truck, pretending it was military vehicle. After it became "immobilized" we jumped from it, and I accidentally kicked it out of gear. The steering wheel was cut, so it rolled out of our drive, circled into the yard, then proceeded over the hill, through a vacant lot, and smack into the corner of our neighbor's house. BOOM! It moved the corner in a good three feet (brick home), pushed the engine partially through the firewall, and warped the frame. Needless to say, dad was a little hot....lol. I got started early in the car wreck department.

Man, that is tough. Love my current car (13 Juke) for the complete opposite reasons I loved a 90s model Ford Bronco. It was the Eddie Bauer edition, so it had lots of bells and whistles for the times, but it was pretty much just plain compared to most new cars. Was just a huge 'go anywhere' rig. The Juke is like driving a go kart with all sorts of options. Also loved my 2003 Ranger extra cab. You just threw what you wanted in it and went wherever.
The worst car...
1987 Camaro. I spent more time working on it than driving it. And it was a wreck magnate. It got hit six times, nearly totaled twice and only once was it operator error (I looked off the road and drove it through a ditch; no real damage, but ditch was full of mud and buried half the car).
Your first car...
1987 Camaro
Brand loyalty...
Hmm. Probably Ford. Although I'm on my second Nissan and no complaints.

Nothing. I'd be least likely (brand wise) to drive a Chevy. Too many craptastic ones over the years. Honestly, the only good one I owned was a 69. I restored it during high school. It was the only Chevy (including a brand new Grand Prix) that never left me on the side of the road.
My first brand new car...
Mitubishi Eclipse. I was 19 or 20, working construction for cash during the day and managing a grocery at night. Money was awesome and like every kid with a roll in his pocket, I just had to have a new car. There wasn't much "cool" at the time, and that was the closest thing. Not a bad car, though.
Then I got a real job and couldn't afford payments any more and sold it.

I get such a raging hard-on everytime I see one of those on the road these days. One of my favorite cars I've ever driven. Learned to drive stick on my dumb cousin's '88 CRX. I've been meaning to stop in and test drive the CRZ just to see how it feels in comparison.

i submerged my first car.... I thought it be fun to drive thru this puddle of standing water in a parking lot so it splash out to the sides.... little did i know the drainage was so bad there the puddle was almost 3 feet and can up to the edge of my windows.
Also threw that car into reverse once while driving. just made weird grindy noises.

The best car I ever had was a 1998 Ford Ranger that I bought when I worked for a local carrier company here in town. I bought it used and drove it a lot netting over 350,000 miles and still had the original clutch. It never broke down and was a great little truck.
The worst car...
The worse I ever had was my wife's 1987 Buick Skylark. This car was a piece of crap and soon broke down forcing us to find a different car.
Your first car...
My first car I bought with my own money was a 1976 Ford Mustang II. It had a 171 Straight Six and got the job done. My first car was given to me by my dad when I turned 16 and was a piece of crap Chevy Van from the 70's. It was Army green and the first time I drove it to work, it broke down and I donated it to the Western Hills High School Auto Mechanic Club.

The best car you ever had... I like my '91 Chevy Blazer 4wd pretty good. I put 320,000 on it, then some dude ran a red light and creamed it in an intersection.
The worst car... I bought a '79 Ford Pinto from my sister for like $200 just to use for a semester in college. That was about as long as it lasted.
Your first car... a 1980 Ford Fiesta a bought from my parents when I was in the Army. It lasted about 8 years with 150,000 miles. Tiny, but not a bad car. Great mileage.
Brand loyalty... none.
The cars your parents had when you were growing up... '65 Ford Fairlane Station Wagon with a 350. '74 Ford Maverick. A couple of Renault 8's from the early '70's. The aforementioned crappy Pinto and the Fiesta.
Car stories... too many to mention.
The rode trip I took in my... '04 Honda Civic Hybrid with my dad through Navajo country. I had some contract work up there with the tribe and he went along with me. I always appreciated that time we had together, especially now that he has passed.

My first brand new car... Ford Fiesta.
My funniest car story... loading three of us into an MG convertible on a Sunday night in the winter on a beer run that took us from Virginia Beach to North Carolina riding on fumes. We never did get the beer (everything was dry around there on a Sunday). We ended up parked in front of some old gas station in the backwoods of North Carolina waiting for it to open the next morning and wondering how we would make it back in time for formation. After about an hour of major discomfort, we decided to roll the dice and see if we had enough gas to get back. We did. Valuable lessons learned.

Long story short....I had dislocated my shoulder and torn the rotator cuff......tried to drink it off. I couldn't shift because it was my right arm. I made the mistake of letting a friend talk me into letting him drive instead of catching a ride. He had been helping me drink it off....lol. ( yeah....I know....we were 20 somethin and stupid ) Anyway....we take a back road , and he cuts a sharp curve short and runs a car into a yard. I'm like "damn dude....you ran that ol boy up in that yard !" In a nonchalant manner that only this cat can pull off at a time like that....he's all "yeah....it was a county cop". Holy shit !
Lol.....so I reach over with my good left arm and cram it up into 3rd from 5th and yell at him to go like hell. I used to cut right of ways for the local co - op during summer breaks. So I remembered where a nice, big, clear transmission line right of way was. I tell him to turn up the road and look for a clearing....we come up on it, and I tell him " Here !" Unfortunately.... I had forgotten the pond in the corner of that right of way !

Here is the trifecta.
The worst car i ever owned was an early '80's (forget the exact year) dodge Charger. It was a total piece of shit. In 1989 I took it on a 1000 mile road trip from Knoxville to Minneapolis. On the way back it started jumping out of fourth gear. since I was broke I decided to just do whatever was necessary to get it back to Knoxville, So I bought a small bungee cord and used ti to hold to stick in fuyrth gear. Eventually (around Indianapolis) if completely gave out on us. They guy in the shop showed us the transmission when he had it out. The fourth gear ring was worn completely smooth. he just shook his head and said "I've never seen anything like that before."

Ha! Yeah, those heaters left a lot to be desired. The reason I asked, my old man had one of those, and he had a lot of trouble out of that thing. He'd have to stop and let it cool off at times before he could shift it. May have just been specific to the car, I was curious if it was common place with them.

Transmission or engine?
I had a friend who owned a late 70's/early 80's Sirocco that over heated all the time. We were constantly driving in the summer with the heater blasting.

On the particular Beetle in question, it had a "clutchless manual transmission". It required you to physically shift, but there was no clutch. My dad had all sorts of problems with one.
