They announced it on the front page.

Just saw a tweet that the Vikes are pissed on missing Iloka now going hard after Reggie Nelson. Id like to keep Reggie but I realize its a luxury, and I wouldn't overpay him.

I'm beginning to hate Zimmer though. He did it with TNew and now Reggie.

I was expecting a more cheesy, Hobson-esque headline like "By George, we've got him!"  Anyway they said they would have matched the Lions offer for Jones but couldn't match the number of targets he'll get in Detroit as he has to share chances here with Green and Eifert.  http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Iloka-returns-for-five-years-Marvin-heads-to-Detroit-/177b32f2-f3a5-432f-97c2-56a0f5e6a6b4

This team could do so much better for a writer. Hobson is a hack.

Actually said it was in range so I am guessing they offered $6 or $7 million per...which is what I would have offered also. I don't think he would have left if the money was the same just to go to a mediocre team and be paired with Golden Tate over AJ Green.

That's what Hobson said was the case.  Isn't he usually the Bengals mouthpiece?

Yes he is. He said the Bengals were in the range...to me that doesn't mean they were willing to pay 8 million but they weren't too far off from that number (and they shouldn't either). I am not trying to be a jerk or anything but being in the range tidbit stuck out to me when I read the article because that is a way to make the Bengals look good without really telling the whole truth on what they would offer.

Within range my ass and don't give me the "# of targets" excuse as a reason.

Yeah, this is smart by the FO for sure. Iloka was worth paying the big dough. Easily top 5 at his position.

The Lions are paying MLJ like he is a #1, we don't know for sure if he is one yet and we have our #1.

We did the right thing here bringing back George, i love Reggie but going youth here was the right thing to do IMHO.

Zim will probably get Reggie, atleast it is our old DC that gets him. Reggie is a great man and just had his best year with us.
Pay him well Zim, Reggie will give you his all. Too bad, loved the Steeler killer but Iloka and Shawn can hold down the fort
with Derron Smith and a rookie.

Both are reasons, to say not is just plain stupid.

Wonder how come there have been no "reports" of any kind about Reggie or Adam. Is it just the Bengals fan in me hoping that's a good sign?

I read something about Adam on bengals.com. I think they will bring him back.

I doubt Reggie is back after this and his awesome ballhawk year. Too bad, love the Predator.

Shawn played well enough last year to give him a try i think.

As he should be. Our best CB be a big deal especially with how Kirkpatrick played last season.

I think they are reasons. Just not the real reason why Jones left. I think the Bengals offered him no more than $6 million and that is NOT in the range of $8 million.

Still blows my mind for how cheap the Bengals got Adam Jones for the past four years. I know he had his troubles and that caused his value to go down, but still.

http://overthecap.com/player/adam-jones/2068/

Time to reward him with ~$5 mill a year... maybe 3-year, $15 million?
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Could be right, oh well. Just happy we brought back Iloka who was our best young FA, talent wise IMO.

Yeah, we got him for cheap and he has done nothing but play great ball for us.

That sounds about right for his age and production, pay the man.

Only $5m guaranteed in Iloka's contract.. What a deal.

Per league source, George Iloka's five-year, $30 million deal with the #Bengals includes $5 million guaranteed.... https://t.co/8raGy7Cucc
