Sorry his overall stats do not put him at the bottom of the league.. especially the lack of fumbles over the last couple seasons compared to some other returners.. and he adds to playing on other levels of special teams, plus he has outplayed other WRs outside of Erickson for that 6th spot...
Name a WR that has outplayed him for 6th spot?

No he hasn't contributed anything as a WR and his return game has hurt us far more than any of his few catches at WR ever helped us. He consistently takes the ball out of the end zone and never makes it back to the 20. He's terrible at deciding what to do when the ball is punted inside the 20. His main function is to return punts/kicks and whenever we need a spark or good field position we risk our starting CB because Tate is horrendous. Any WR we have one our roster can provide what Tate does for us at WR. He needs to go.

Actual Bengals fans understand the absolute importance of winning in primetime and getting the monkey off our back.

A couple caveats:
1) my apologies for making this my first post on the new boards (i rarely posted on the old ones either, but have enjoyed reading threads for years)
2) i'm not a big chat room/forum/virtual reality conversation specialist, and i recognize it's hard to know tone when addressing someone, and further apologize for misreading yours or misrepresenting mine

taking your comment at face value, your need to be emphatic and appear an expert on something you got so blatantly wrong is what's wrong with the internet and what's left of human dialogue these days. for you and the few other members continuing to misguidedly bang on about PUP procedures:
- you lack basic reading comprehension, not only on the actual way the various injury lists work, but even within this own thread, as it's been addressed multiple times before your post.
- it's ok not to know something. best to develop the socratic method, and just ask questions. admitting you don't know something is much wiser than ignorantly charging forward with equals signs and a total disregard to all the contributions on the subject before your spasm.
...it's past 4am where i'm at, and could be totally off-base with your intent, but in general this kind of puffed-up faux-authority tortures the conversation and poisons the truth on any topic. the best medicine would be for you to come back and admit your mistake, apologize for not reading and valuing the plethora of other member's valid contributions on the subject, and endeavor not to do it again.

Tates has earned a spot on this team... will play a variety of roles outside of just running back kicks/punts.

Anyone that knows anything about football knows that the final score of any preseason game no matter what time it is played means nothing.

If Tate is returning kicks/punts, this team is worse off with him on the roster.

There is no fugging monkey in pre-season. There is absolutely no reason to risk injuries to starters in a game that doesn't count. To think otherwise is asinine.

disagree on that one.. combo of Erickson and Tate will do just fine.. with as thin as we look right now at Cb.. i don;t see risking Jones that much plus Peerman was back at times on kicks, so we lost that also...

My prediction was pretty spot on though.
Bengals blow the Jags out early and the Jags come back late...
Happy we got out of it with only one bad injury (Peerman) but i was kind of hoping Carson would make the team anyway.
