Games lost on line of scrimmage
#1
Yesterday and last week we lost because our lines on both sides came up short. Same was true against the Jets and we were dam lucky to win that game.

No pressure on the Denver QB while Andy was under pressure almost every play.

What in the world has happened to Geno and MJ?

Bodine is a weak link killing the people around him. Unreal that this was not addressed in the draft or with a free agent signing.

Boling looks like our best O lineman at the present. Zeitler's big contract is a fantasy right now.

We will never beat the upper level teams with this type of line play.

Not optimistic about the rest of the season. I am thinking 8-8 and missing the playoffs.

If we make playoffs, it will be one and out with this average to below average level of play by our lines on both sides.

Cant disagree either. Geno and Dunlap are getting a lot of double teams, as MJ is a far cry from his 'one hit wonder' season. Clark and Hunt have done a good job for their roles. Peko is Peko, and should have been canned after that personal foul in the playoff game when he came on the field from the sidelines.

The o-line is nothing special obviously. They cant dominate in run blocking, they cant dominate in pass blocking. Zeitler doesnt deserve a DeCastro sized contract. Boling is looking good. Ced is looking good for the future. Whit is aging but still good. Bodine is weakest link at the second maybe most important position of the 5 lineman.

Basically, the Bengals did absolutely nothing in upgrading the trenches this last off-season or in preseason. As they are rolling out the same ones from last year for the most part. Unless they somehow turn it around, the OP is right, we will never beat the upper leveled teams (unless its a fluke), especially in the playoffs.

The chances of making the playoffs this year are slim to none.
