JOHN ROBERTS: From time to time in the years to come, I hope you will be treated unfairly so that you will come to know the value of justice... I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.

Not sure it qualifies as "modern", but one of my favorites is "So This is Christmas" by John Lennon....or maybe it's called Happy Xmas (War is Over)

Martina McBride did a Xmas album years ago and it's excellent.

It's all of the traditional classics.

Check it out... you will not be disappointed!!

Not exactly a Xmas song but Baby It's Cold Outside is a good one.

I forgot Bob Seger's Little Drummer Boy.

"Do You Hear What I Hear?" by Whitney Houston. Goosebump city!

"Let it Snow," by Jessica Simpson. I can't stand this song but Jessica sings the poop out of it.

"Jingle Bells," is a silly song if sung traditionally but two versions blow my mind: (1) Barbra Streisand's Broadway style version and (2) the instrumental jazz version by Doc Severinsen and the Tonight Show Orchestra. Doc plays two unbelievable jazz solos.

Is there a full version of "Baby it's cold outside" from that Lady Gaga/Tony Bennett commercial? Thought that was amazing.
