***Week 17 GameDay Thread...Ravens @ Bengals***
#61
I don't think Rex can be an every down back. Hill wasn't (and shouldn't be with his horrid average), and Gio wasn't.

To basically have a Gio and Gio 2.0 with fresh legs all game, it's bound to work. The questoin is can Rex do 3rd and shorts/Goal lines...

Why does Rex look like the best RB on a healthy Bengals roster?

He just runs harder and has will. You cannot teach these things.

Plus he is a great receiver out of the backfield and has great vision.

Could be special.

agreed, plus if gio can make a full recovery you have 2 dangerous duel threats out of the back field, swap them out to keep them fresh and forget the every down work horse

That sideline catch Brandon LaFell made reminded me of Chad Johnson at his best.

So Rex and Gio are redundant as 3rd down/change of pace/Woodhead/Sproles types and clearly you want to launch Hill and we have no every down back?

Guys... Burkhead is done in Cincy after this game. All this optimism about his future with the team is depressing me

Yeah, I want to launch HIll. Dude is horrendous in 3rd and short too! Have you been watching the same team many of the rest of us have?  "Change of pace" back doesn't mean anything when the dude is worthless in short yardage scenarios.

The Ravens' offensive line is opening holes and the Cincinnati secondary isn't tackling. This is a bad combination.
