It works fine for me.  In any case, search Youtube for Derek Barnett highlights and the top result is a vid entitled Derek Barnett The Greatest.

He does have a point (though I hate to defend fred's words..) as the link only takes you to the youtube home page.

Seriously?

Alvarez is a red shirt Freshman and lost his starting job mid season to Erick Wren, a walk on.  Doing it against scrubs is a lot different than doing it against NFL caliber talent.  Alvarez got abused by everyone he faced, hence the benching.

I tried it again, and it takes me straight to the referenced video, so I dunno, but again, search his highlight videos and click on Derek Barnett The Greatest.

Wrong.  He started 10 of 12 games and missed one due to injury.

Are Alabama's Cameron Robinson and Texas A&M's Avery Gennesy "scrubs"?

I finally saw the video, the link posted by bfine, worked just fine..

Not sure what Whatever is seeing, as most every play highlighted, Barnett is beating his man. He may appear to be "unblocked" as many times he just gets there faster than his intended blocker can react. I saw plays of him not only beating Tackles around the corner, but a play of him driving a Tackle back, and then proceeding to come to the inside, I saw a play of him dismissing a RB, I saw a play on a stunt where the OL that tried to pick him up, had no answer.

Whatever, I have to tell you something. They don't make highlight videos chock full of action that just anyone can do..

I was hoping that you had actual "film", like the coaching variety used by opposing teams, to show how he capitalizes, but you did not.

There are numerous plays in there in where Barnett wins with speed, and some with power.  However, when you frame by frame those cited plays, it's very clear what the OL is doing.  When you watch it real time, it creates the illusion that he's blowing around these guys, but in reality, he's just the man unaccounted for in the blocking scheme.

Highlight films are created to make guys look better than they are, bottom line.

At this point, I will agree to disagree.  People can do as much or as little research into the guy and draw their own conclusions.

Some of them "yes" and some of them "no".  For example one of them is a twist stunt and Barnett just blows past the inside guy who is supposed to block him.

But the thing is that you are completely missing a huge point.  Offenses run these plays all the time and the unblocked player does not get close to making a play.  The fact that he makes plays when he is unaccounted for is not a bad thing.  It just shows how he can make plays that other DEs can not.  That is one of the things that makes Barnett elite.  But he also beats guys straight up and blows around them with speed.

I wouldn't mind Cam Robinson the tackle from Alabama given that Fisher is not look great and I also like the running back from Florida State Cook. Cook Burkhead and Giovanni in the backfield would be fairly strong.

But I wouldn't count out Mike Williams at number 9 he may be a little slow but he can catch everything in the Cincinnati Bengals tend to like tall wide receivers and tall defensive ends.
I don't understand what slow is he runs a 4.4 40 I REALLY WANT Williams but also REALLY want hooker.

There just are not any pass rush specialists with a lot of tackles.
Yeah guess who one of them is? Walker who had 16 sacks and 67 tackles and we can get him in the third. would much rather get Walker in the third get elflien in the second and take Williams or hooker at 9.

Where the hell do you get the impression that Walker would be available in the third round?  He is a late first rounder, maybe 2nd round.

On the twist stunt, he does a great job of beating the LG, but the RB is in great position to pick him up, but just doesn't see him and runs himself out of the play.  I don't expect the back to win that exchange, but he could have bought the QB a moment to get the ball out.

I'm not saying Barnett is a scrub, and as I said earlier, I give the guy due credit for finishing plays.  The thing I like about him the most is he has a great second gear and I haven't seen many cases of QB'S making him miss or shrugging him off.  However, I don't him as Top 10 guy, and neither do most scouting services.  Again, I'll agree to disagree.

I'm just not a fan of Barnett. Like I said in another thread, I think he'll be a bust. If we draft him I hope he becomes an All-Pro but I have my doubts.

Edit: Bust isnt what I'm going for. What I'm trying to say is I don't think he's worth a top 10 pick.

I think ur like me he's not gonna be a bust but a bust relative to the number 9 draft pick we would be picking him as. If we took him in the second or third there would be no complaints. Hell be good possibly great but not a world beater which is what u want at the number 9 pick.

Exactly. If he's there in 2 or 3 I won't complain if they take him, but with guys like Foster, Williams, Hooker etc. who will be available when we draft I don't think he's worth it. We can get a guy like Walker  in the second or third if another team takes him after us.

Exactly not worthy of top 10 I cant decide between hooker and Williams but I'm leaning Williams he's a legit number 1 with green Boyd and eifert. Too much. Then looking elflien in 2 and Walker in early 3
