Yeah and PA just kept plugging in scrubs since Braham and then picked Bodine. Even traded up for that scrub.
How this guy still has a job i will never know. I would of fired my best friend if he sucked this bad.
I would tell him, hey man, you are my bro but damn, you really screwed the pooch like 100 times over dude.
Maybe i can get you a job screwin the pooch or somethin'.

Yeah, this would definately help with the Whit situation too. Do this and you don't even have to think about it.
Talking to you MB.

Remember the scene in Casino where "Ace" Rothstein fires the guy who lets the jackpots hit even though his Uncle was on the Gaming Comission? If that would have been Mike Brown dude still would be working there.

Lol, that is scary. Bengals fans dont care if we miss on a prospect. It happens all the time in the NFL. What gets frustrating is that these guys will not admit to a freaking mistake and try to correct it. Normal organizations keep coaches's egos in check by having accountability for mistakes. That doesn't happen here as long as the boys keeping bringing Mikey free Bagels and coffee every morning.

We sign guys like this every year...AJ Hawk, Harrison, Dansby, etc.
We think we're getting a Pro Bowler...but those days are well behind these guys. 11 years is a lot of wear and tear on a Center.
That said...Bodine is so bad that Mangold at 50% is still a sizeable upgrade.

Give me Mangold, Poe or Fairly, Hightower and keep Whit and Tag Zeitler and I will be happy. Then we can go DE/RB/CB in the first 3 Rds. I know its a ton to ask for but if this team ever wants to come close to a SB thats what its going to take.

Margus Hunt quickly comes to mind. He should have been cut 2 years ago, and far and away never should have made last years team. He has 29 tackles and 1.5 sacks in four seasons ! He's eating up a roster spot and money and producing little, 2 blocked PAT's - whoppeeeee
He's a 2nd round bust that the egos on this coaching staff won't admit to for nothing. It wouldn't even totally shock me if MB doesn't resign him because he can do it on the cheap.

When the hell are the Peko and R.Maualugas contracts up? No reason to still have these guys. Im going to lose it if I have to watch the Peko belly rub after a sack. Good thing it only happens maybe once a year.

Lol yeah,
Mike Brown believes in loyalty above accountability. While that might make him a great human, it makes him a bad NFL owner. If Mike Brown was as loyal to his fan base who has stuck with this organization through the 90's and early 2000's as he does to his coaching staff we might have won a Super Bowl by now.

Heck, maybe Nick can even teach Russel a few things.
So much win to HEAVILY pursue him.
Still, I expect nothing.

I'd actually rather draft a good young center in the first 3 rounds, but I'd take a 33 year old Mangold over Bodine any day.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

Cap casualty.
Should be a no brainer for the Bengals to go after him but we all know they won't

Ricky, this is the exact type of player we go after.
Lots of crying over milk that hasn't been spilled yet around here.
This seems likely to me from what we have seen in the past.
Mangold looks like a Bengal, just like Dansby did last year.
Old, cheap, got cut, was great in his hay day...

That guy is Piano Man.....he lobbied hard for Bodine from what I recall. Need I say more?
As to the OP......if you're looking to improve this team.....you absolutely make a run at Mangold or Wisniewsky ( jeez I'll have to learn to spell that one ) if you don't.....it shows your priorities. Telling times we're embarking on. If they don't look at either of these cats....they're either delsuional about Blodine....or they are just plain cheap.

There is no doubt in my mind that not only will they not go after either of these guys, they will give some kind of lame excuse acknowledging the fact that Bengals fans want them but their system works better. We will get a project center that Alexander loves with a comp pick in the 6th rounds that hangs around somehow for 4 or 5 years without playing.

He's more than a cap casualty. He only played in 8 games last year and is 33 after playing for 11 years.

Mangold is better at this point than Bodine. Just going after a C would at least admit that Bodine is not the answer and they are trying to do something.
