Reportedly getting cut by DEN by Saturday.

I think we can ALL agree we need him.

I wouldn't mind that.

- He's 30 years old
- Why would Denver cut him if he were any good
- He's missed 6 games in the last 2 years
- PFF says he sucks (just guessing)
- He's total CANCER
- Derron Smith (or insert random scrub currently on team) is better

There, I beat everyone to the punch.

He hits hard though, so he'll be suspended pretty quickly if he signs here.

Ha! Good point  Hilarious

But in all seriousness, that would be a good signing. I doubt it happens though, the staff seems to be happy with things as they are. Now if (God forbid) there's an injury tonight then, well... They'd be stupid not to

TJ Ward is one of the few FAs I would have loved to see the Bengals snag, but in 2014 he wasn't a need.

Ward would be an excellent fit for the Bengals defensive scheme. Man to man corners and a very good center field safety in Iloka would let Ward do what he does best roam.

I think I love Derron Smith. Shot calling right now. With all the reps he's been getting-he will be our best safety this year.

Why do the Bengals need TJ Ward?

Ward only had 1 INT last year, 8 in his 7-year career. 87 combined tackles.
Iloka and Williams each had 3 last year. 74 and 81 combined tackles respectively.

Williams 2016 PFF - 78.5 (#39 S)
Iloka 2016 PFF - 75.0 (#53 S)
Ward 2016 PFF - 75.9 (#48 S)

Ward isn't really any better than the safeties the Bengals have.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Not good enough. You need stats/proof to provide valid arguments nowadays. No one takes others just on their word.

Ward is mainly a run stuffing safety. He isn't a pass covering guy. He does hit hard too.

I know. But Williams and Fej can do that.

There, I beat everyone to the punch.

I get the sarcasm, and he is a solid player, but I can't help but think his style of play here would result in many penalties and suspensions.  We need to start drafting and developing (maybe a FA here or there as well) players that don't tackle hard.  They need to be able to get the player to the ground, softly.  Maybe a wrap tackle where they pull the player down on top of them to cushion the blow?

TJ Ward isn't that type of player at all.  He's a hard hitting suspension waiting to happen.  Oh, and forget about ever going after Aqib Talib as well.  His crimes would actually get him put in jail here, and his play would absolutely have him suspended as well.

How dare thou cast doubt at one FEJ!!!  He will surely end up the first player to be put in the Hall of Fame before he retires and after only starting one season.
