Dalton's weapons

Someone mentioned how Dalton is surrounded by weapons that other QBs would kill for. I've always felt we overvalued our own weapons. So I looked at teams from 2011-2017 to see if other teams had surrounded their QBs with more talent. I didn't look at every team and I'm sure there are some I should have, but this took a long time and I'm tired of doing it.

What is your point? That's the breaks, in the NFL. A good QB can elevate those around him to a higher level. The question you must ask yourself; Are we seeing that, from our franchise QB?

The point is that every season we hear how Dalton has the top weapons in the league. We severely overvalue players on here. That's the point. I'm not saying he's surrounded by scrubs, I'm just saying it's not hard to find teams that have had just as much if not more talent surrounding them than Dalton.

I'd say the Steelers and Falcons have better weapons...but AJ Green is an elite WR. Lafell is good. Jones and Sanu were good #2 and #3 guys. Our backs were generally good too.

Agree. Most fans overvalue draft picks and offensive guys. I heard how Ross would be uncoverable. How Mixon didn't need a line.

IF you believe a guy like Ross is elite right off the bat then we are loaded.

Also fans look at how good a guy is at their peak not right now. At one point Eifert was a really good TE. Injuries have robbed him of that. He's an average TE now.

We don't rush well. We don't pass block well. And our QB is weak when pressured. Seems a recipe for disaster. Teams can just pin their ears back and double Green.

I mean, that's hardly news.

We have a ton of yearly threads about how great Ryan Whalen, Dane Sanzenbacher, Bernard Scott, Dezmon Briscoe, Josh Malone, etc, etc, etc, are going to be.

Mohamed Sanu had those 4 TDs in 3 games as a rookie and people were jizzing their pants about how great he was going to be.
Heck, right before this season started I remember seeing a thread about how the Bengals had "4 great TEs" or something like that. Gushing over Kroft and Hewitt.

That's always been a pretty big thing here.
