Seems that, a’la buffalo fans to Dalton’s foundation, some of our fans have now decided to donate to the Blake Bortles foundation to show appreciation for his role in eliminating the Steelers from the playoffs. Seems like a great reason to me!

Saw a comment elsewhere "Marvin Lewis intended to donate $1, but only managed to donate $0.75 after he mismanaged the 4th quarter" and just burst out laughing.

With all the crap going on with the NFL this year, this trend is a nice change of pace

I happily donated $14. Paying forward the amount a lot of Bills fans donated to Dalton's charity. Very cool trend that's starting to develop.
I'll admit right now I put $20 on the Steelers to win thinking that if they're gonna win anyways I might as well use those aholes to make five bucks. I'm not wealthy by any means, but very okay to pay a victory tax to the football gods. I might continue this practice next season. It makes the idea of a steelers win bearable and maybe me throwing my support behind them has altered something, cosmically. I can use my powers of bad luck for good.

I think they were at $17, because they were on a 17 year playoff drought.
Either way, good on you for donating. :andy:

I threw in $20. My wife will think Blake Bortles is some porn star so I need to download a Jacksonville roster.

Looks like he's doing some great things with his foundation. I chipped in $20 as well.

Making a donation to a cause it great on its own.
As for suspensions. I get suspended for autocorrect errors.
Donating to this cause only because the jags beat the Steelers is some beta stuff.
Now if you get caught up in the hysteria then so be it. Certainly not going to begrudge anyone for giving.
So i assume you don;t have rival teams you don;t like and are glad a team upsets them... I think it is awesome that we are donating to a good cause and for a good reason... what someone do put coal in your stocking ??

Oh I want all division rivals to lose every week. Been Pulling for the jags and rams this playoffs.
Donating is good. I’m not making fun of that. This just feels like jersey swapping. I miss having the players hate each other.

Hmm.. yes, charities are always good but this is getting out of hand. Can't it be a charity without I.O.Us???
What's next? People donating to Mike Brown's charity for firing Marvin next year after a 5-11 record?

I prefer direct donations. For example, a homeless guy wanting some change to get a beer.. Give me a great bs story and I'll probably buy you a beer, but have some faceless umbrella organization hit me up for money to "do good things" just doesn't strike me the right way.
It's not that I'm stingy.. I'm far from it, but I generally don't trust big umbrella organizations that have lots of overhead and especially administrators.. I really don't trust administrators..
That doesn't even bring into question why these athletes even have these various money laundering operations to begin with..not that all are, but I'd be willing to bet that lots of money gets laundered every year through them..
True story..several years ago while living in a homeless shelter some group dropped by to donate a bunch of steaks.. Those steaks went in the front door and right out the back door. Not one was ever served in the shelter.. I and three other guys followed it and witnessed every bit of it getting unloaded from one van and reloaded into another van all within a very short period. (less than an hour)
We ate almost dried rice for dinner that day..
Point being is it's just too easy for anyone except the people it's supposed to help to get their grubby mitts on money through these foundations..
The shelter story is just one..I've witnessed plenty of graft and embezzlement in my life with various organizations, Red Cross food banks and on and on..

Shouldn't they have donated to Fournette's foundation (or charity of choice if he doesn't have one)?
