The "How do we fit them all in?" thread
#21
Billings will make the roster this season. Drafted players don't tend to be released after only 2 years when the first is spent on IR. I'm not saying we won't try to draft a replacement next April, but we're not going to pull the plug this early in the game...

They don't all fit in - just like last year when we had way too many picks.

We will end up cutting guys that were just drafted. That's why for the life of me I don't understand why we didn't move around a little more.

Brown can also be listed as either and End or DT however we want to sneak him on the team.

Same with Lawson who can be listed as either a LB or an End. The versatility is nice.

Oh, and to Ravage, Billings isn't going anywhere, this Draft just said so. We didn't draft a run stopping DT. Billings was
coming off injury and is extremely young and talented. You do not cut that going into his 3rd year where he will be able
to finally lift again like he could as a rookie.

I read my way through the comments before commenting myself, knowing you would beat me to Brandon Wilson.

I agree with the OP that Baker might not even make this team unless he comes in 100% dedicated.  That is a good thing.  More competition.

And Redmond WAY over Hopkins.  With the versatility to return kicks for our new DB, I would imagine they would keep Core over Erickson if it came down to those two.  Boyd and Lafell can man the slot, with Ross and Core at X, and Malone spelling AJ, Ross, and Core, plus four receiver sets.

I thought Core was going to take a huge leap last year after how he finished 2016, but an injury at an inopportune time cut his reps and he never got another shot.  I have a feeling we might have been a year early on Core and he will rise in 2018.  He may not be a 75 reception guy, but I could see 35-40 with key third down plays.
