Peerman on ST's is far more valuable than a RB that gets no carries.
They have a practice squad for a reason.
I hope you are right and Hill nor Gio or Rex get injured knock on wood.
I am happy Wilder and Watson made it to the PS as well. I just thought that maybe this was the year
they move on from Peerman as he is not as good of a RB as the dudes on the PS in my opinion. But he
is a fine ST player and i can see both sides of the argument.
Hey, i have been a Peerman supporter from day one so don't act like i am hating on the guy.
He has done everything the team has asked of him and more.

What happens if, God forbid, Hill goes down? How do you compensate? We have no one who is similar to what Hill can do, Wilder can.

Then you bring Wilder/Watson up. Pretty simple.

Yeah, and we can't put Peerman on the PS so i understand why they kept him over the W's.

Where another team with RB issues can also claim them.

You're paranoid. You can get RBs like that anywhere.

Please read my original post again and you'll have your answer :)
And - If some team claims Wilder from the PS you still have Watson. If both are claimed, you do what the system was set up to do and find someone on another team's PS.
By the way - He is the same guy that also spent last year on our PS.

And you're unintelligent if you think Peerman is irreplaceable. Wilder has more talent and had shown he can handle his ST duties. Just makes simple sense to keep the guy with upside.

Or, or, crazy idea here, you could just keep the more talented players? No? Right that's stupid.

I am with you Stormborn, i am more of the "keep the more talented players" crowd myself.
They were talking about Wilder maybe playing Linebacker at one point.
Couldn't that guy be a better tackler than a RB at some point? Plus he is already a better RB IMO.

He flashed making stops on kicks this preseason. He carried that "must hit someone" mentality from FSU to here and we want the one dimensional vet with no upside.
These things matter.

And where did you get the idea that Wilder or Watson are more talented than Peerman? Both those goes were undrafted free agents. Peerman was a 4th round draft pick. Wilder sat around all year on a practice squad. Peerman has performed better in the pre-season just about every year during his career than Wilder ever has.

Younger, more upside, bigger, more versatile as far as Wilder goes.
Plus he runs meaner than Peerman which i like.

Younger? Yes. More upside? No. More versatile? No.

I already broke my own rule engaging you and your notorious trolling account, but **** it.
More violent running style, faster in game, can go through you, can make the same contributions as Peerman on special teams if given the chance. Won't have to change the gameplan if Hill becomes unavailable.
Draft status means squat at this point of his own career, he's only here because the coaches value the dozen times he makes a routine tackle on kicks. If you're only on a team for special teams and you aren't a specialist (k, p, ls), it's a problem. You can't only be good at special teams, that has to be one of the things your good at because if you're called upon in game and can't contribute, what good is your special teams ability?
Keep supporting the consistent lack of roster innovation though.

This discussion reminds me of 2006 when the Bengals lost two PS running backs to other teams, Naufahu Tahi to the Vikings and DeDe Dorsey to Indy.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today.

Well thats your opinion Pong. Wilder being younger and has yet to peak already means he has more
upside than an older player like Peerman to me. Plus being able to play Linebacker already means you
have to know how to tackle so it is not like he could not play ST's, especially when he has already shown
that he can in the Preseason.
Plus he can play FB which is another thing that makes him more versatile than Peerman.
The only thing i think Peerman has on Wilder is catching the ball out of the backfield maybe.
And that is not a given.
