Totally agree with your point though grampahol, either they can play or they can't.  It's not like we have a bunch of rookies starting.  A big reason the average age is so low is due to 2nd and 3rd year players like Lawson, Willis, Evans and WJ3.  All of these guys got plenty of playing time last year and proved they can play.  

The successful teams have turned their rosters for years - namely the Pats and Steelers.
