Props to Lazor even Marv???

First I can't believe I'm even thinking this much less posting about it but here goes. They say it's a copy cat league but at some point someone has the come up with the way to beat a hot team early in the season. While teams like TB and Miami were on a roll eventually they ran across a team that figured them out. TB With Pitt to an extent but really got exposed this weekend. Same with Miami's hot streak coming to an end in NE. Who knows maybe KC will have problems with Denver tonight, would not surprise me if Denver blows them out. I guess my point is, I think wins/loses early in the season are a reflection of coaching more than anything. Of course players have to do their part and execute, but coaches really have to study and figure out how to score on and stop a team more so than any other time later in the season. It's not as obvious yet what a teams weakness is, if their for real or just a pretender benefiting from an easy schedule. Some teams do a pretty good job hiding their weakness as long as they can, others not so much.

So props to our OC, also Pollack for doing the best he can with this line, we thought that would be our weakness, and still may be but I think it's pretty obvious what our weaknesses are. This D line should be awesome and they are underperforming big time. Our LBers are nowhere to be found, Kirk is just bad and WJ3 has even regressed since last season. Our D coordinator should be able to something with the players he has yet continues to disappoint. Maybe Burfict can light a fire under these guys, but I'm sure the refs will flag him every chance they get, especially if he sacks a QB.

Anyway, Kudos to Marvin who has been tolerable so far this season, props to the offense, but this D has got to get their crap together. Just curious what everyone's thought is on gameplanning early in the season verses mid/late season. Who-Dey

Screw Marvin. How many times have we all gotten our hopes up during the regular season only to get them crushed in the one and done playoffs.

No need to answer that it’s SEVEN. Until he wins one freaking playoff game screw him.

If Marvin actually has nads and a brain.

He'll step in and fix this D issue.

No reason at all to be bottom dwelling on that side of the ball with the personnel Austin has.

He's making Guenther look like a damn superman.

To think that Burfict is the only thing that brings hope is quite sad.

On the other hand, look who  we have had to play so far. Andrew Luck on the road, Cam Newton on the road and Matt Ryan on the road. (And Flacco at home) Those are some pretty good quarterbacks to be dealing with in the first 4 games. I wouldn't be too hard on the defense as of yet, it's not like we played four teams with average to poor QB's.....

We're going to face good QB's every week.  Heck, we've got Ben, Mahomes and Brees around the corner.

Marvin needs to step in an fix this defense asap.  It's very apparent he can let Lazor handle everything offensively, especially with Dalton as an extension at QB.

Austin's schemes are dog sh!t.  Soft cushions with press corners is ridiculous.  WJ3 looks like Ray Horton in this defense for crying out loud.

Oh, and I'm tired of hearing about turnovers.  A 3 and out is like a turnover if you do it early in the drive.

Austin's D = swiss cheese

That's what I'm saying, we are facing good QB's. Imagine if we were facing Case Keenum, etc. The defense would look great. I'm not saying they don't need to improve, but 3 road games against those 3 QB's is a tough one for any defense, let alone a Defense missing two starting linebackers. I'm all for improvement, I'm just not as down on them as everyone else seems to be.....

You make a good point Sled.....it's not like they've been out there going up against a couple of schlubs these first few weeks.  Two NFL MVPs and a SB MVP.

I know what you're saying, but lets worry about the playoffs when we get there first.

You’re right but man I’m having a hard time getting to excited because I’m so use to being let down. I want to enjoy the moment but it feels like I need to also brace myself for what’s to come.

The reality is I’ll be so excited going into the post season(assuming we make it) and no amount of healthy skepticism will prepare me for the crushing disappointment if we go one and done.

I don’t blame the OP for his optimism or glee but man I can’t do it anymore. I’m just hanging on and hoping and hope is crushing me.

Gotcha, past history isn't good, hang in there and enjoy the next game. My philosophy anyways..

Whatever happens this year, I'm starting to think Marvin Lewis outlasts Mike Brown, AJ Green, and maybe even Andy Dalton.

It's easy to see being let down in the past as a good reason to not get excited in the present.  And perfectly understandable.

I guess I'm foolish in this regard because I see being let down in the past as all the more reason to be excited in the present when given a valid reason.  I figure I should enjoy the good time when I'm in the middle of it.  Gotta take the fun when I get it, you might say, life being so short and all.

Damn it, you've convinced me that my deadbeat dad is finally going to make good on that promise he made in 1987 to take the family to Disney Land!

We all have our crosses to bear, I guess.  At least you aren't bitter.

I don't understand this way of thinking.  How does feeling miserable now make you feel better if we lose in the playoffs?

Why not try this instead?  Be happy when things are good and save the misery until you have a reason to feel miserable.
