My dilemma

So, here is my situation. I have a nice porcelain and silver cap on my tooth. Actually, I have several. But this story only deals with one. So, my cap came loose during an exceptionally aggressive flossing session several months ago. It popped off the tooth. I put it back in and it fit so tightly, that I forgot about going to the dentist and getting it glued back in (or whatever they use).

Fast forward to this morning. I'm eating this wonderful gluten free vanilla cupcake. Then, on the second bite, I notice there is a massive space in my mouth. Apparently, the cap came loose on the bite and I swallowed it. Otherwise, I would have noticed it missing on the first bite.

So, here is my dilemma. Do I go to the dentist and have a new crown made? That shit is expensive anymore. Or, do I monitor my feces for several days, slice it up, pull out the old cap when I find it, and find some way to clean and sterilize it.

What would you do?

I was talking with my dentist before and he mentioned the spike and said it was a good thing I hadn't swallowed it "but at least you would've known when it came out."

I've wondered since then what I'd have done if I swallowed it.

You can't fool me, man! I know there is no spike. When it came out, I carefully inspected it, because I was wondering how much I could get for the silver in it.

Wait a sec! You just gave me a great idea! I'll borrow my neighbors metal detector and check after each poop. That way, I don't have to needlessly chop up a bunch of crap!

Well. I took a big dump last night. But I couldn't bring myself to pull crap out of the toilet and start slicing it up just to put something inside of it back in my mouth. Besides, the smell was rather horrendous! As I have been known to say, "That shit ain't right, man!"

I felt rather sick about it, though. It was hard for me to enjoy the dump the way I normally do thinking about all that money going down the toilet.

I think I will just have all the teeth in my head pulled and get dentures. At least I wouldn't be swallowing all of those bastards!

I would think boiling for 10 minutes, and then maybe soaking in some rubbing alcohol should take care of it.  But just think about the anxiety the first time you pop that "kernel" back in place.
