Buuuuuuut, this is clearly different. This isn't the 90s, all this team under Dalton has done is find a way in the regular season. Hell I'd understand being subdued that first playoff game, totally. However this is the regular season and the Bengals are tearing it up.
After the Bengals win next week, I don't see another scare until they play the Cardinals, well, maybe the Bills so there's that.
Can you imagine the Bengals going into week 10 with a 9-0 record going up against the QB who walked out on them?
Oh, and before anyone say, "One game at a time" or "Let's not look ahead and worry about the next game only". Let me tell you, I have no impact whatsoever on how this team plays or reacts or thinks or anything...none of us do. We are fans, we have that luxury of looking ahead all the way to the Super Bowl.
Just think, as this season goes, this team is only going to get better. Just wait until this team puts together that perfect game where all phases click. It's going to be a thing of beauty.

Remember when everyone was like 'the schedule is so tough!' Now the last four games were too weak. Yeah, that's why that's a dumb thing to talk about.
We were shocked that less than 60K came to PBS today - you couldn't have asked for a better scenario: Sunny, in the 60s, 3-0 team ... I guess tickets remain for Seattle, but those are dwindling.
The season is 25% over. Barring injury armageddon this team is on its way to the postseason for the fifth straight year, which is heck of an accomplishment (but one the guys who cover the team knew would happen - national guys kinda whiffed on this team). I dunno - I think it's not worth wringing hands over the playoffs until it's the playoffs. They have to get there first, and thus far it's been fun to cover (and to watch, I imagine).

Just remember, fans of this team think the Bengals are "Snake Bitten".

I can't believe pukes like you with this absolutely loser mentality actually decided to come to this board; we don't want your biased and incorrect negativity.
The playoff point is valid of course, but you haven't a clue about anything if you spout the bullshit you're spewing.

I know Ray Rice didn't play last year. That was my point.
Second. Yeah Ray Rice had a down year, but you can't say that Ray Rice didn't help the Ravens passing game over the years. We beat the Ravens the last four times we faced them and three of those times was without Ray Rice.

What in my post shows that I have a loser mentality?
Also, I didn't just "come to this board". I was an original member of the Bengals message board and was confused when I came here and saw that I had to re-register and that the site is completely different now. Nonetheless, still seems that people don't have a problem attacking others the first chance they get.

It's a lot of fun. Shockingly fun. They look so damned 'ept.
And everyone in the locker room says the same thing--we're happy to be 4-0 but we have a lot of work to do. And when they ask Andy about how well he's playing, the first word of every sentence out of his mouth is "we."
It's a thing of beauty. The coaches, the players, everybody, operating at a higher level.
Some fans are playing it like the team--happy so far, work to do, one game at a time, long way to go.
If it keeps up like this, though, eventually the past will not be able to contain the excitement and you will see pandemonium.

Every AFCN team plays every AFCW team. We are not only 4-0, we are 3-0 against the West and 1-0 against the AFCN. The Ravens have already lost to the Raiders. The Browns lost today to the Chargers and Steelers play Chargers next week I think.
It is a shame we don't sell out, but the issue is club seating may be too expensive. It appears the empty seats every game are in the club sections on both sides of the field from 30 to 30 yard lines. I have a group of 8 seats in the less expensive club seat area and we would move if this price was more reasonable freeing up our seats which would sell easily.
It is fun to watch us not play perfect games, but beat good teams like KC easily. The Ravens win was huge as they were like a wounded animal in their den, they fought, we fought and we won.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Agreed. All I heard all off season was how difficult our schedule was this year. It's hard to win in the NFL so I'll take any victory however we can get it.
National guys slept on the fact that we had a lot of good players returning from injury or still in recovery (Atkins). For them not to think we had a decent shot at making it back to the playoffs, just show how lazy they are in their analysis.

and over the last four times.. we have Hill and Bernard.... bottom line we have gotten better as a TEAM, they have not.. Forsett was just as effective as Ray Rice was last year for the Ravens. ... you are way too stuck on thinking Ray Rice is the difference... 2013 Rice rushed for a terrible 3.1 yards and scored 5 TDS overall... enough said
Regardless. the Ravens still have one of the best home records and the Bengals have went in and defeated them the last two times on their opening game... that is impressive.

You don;t know about the club seats. you can;t gauge the empty seats.. ive had club seats before.. many faces enjoy watching the game inside especially since they bring their kids but we are not drawing great compared to other NFL teams.. now Chargers and Chiefs are probably not helping early attendance numbers.. we will see when we draw Seattle and AFC Central teams in if we improve.

^^^^^This exactly!!!
I am really pumped about this team and how we look this year. Like Shake said and I have said in other threads, it really looks like this could be a different team and a team that can finally win a playoff game or two. However, I have been a fan long enough to see how things tend to go for our team, so I am not counting on anything yet. As we continue through this season and keep looking like we have been, I'll continue to get more and more excited. I'm sure the excitement will continue to grow for other fans too!!
P.S. My brother is a Seahawks fan and I can't wait for next week!!! Hopefully I'll get to rub it in a little bit after we win. Only a little bit though until we get to the Super Bowl as they at least have one win.
Who Dey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am cautiously optimistic and am afraid to jinx it. If they must lose any game soon, I hope it's to Seattle. Win all the games against the AFC opponents. Most of my friends are Giants fans and they are asking me how excited I am with the Bengals playing so well. I keep telling them I am a cynic and waiting for the other shoe to drop but I am enjoying every minute of it.

We are going in the right direction. We are beating teams who we are supposed to beat definitively. Now you might say the Ravens are not as good, but every team is jacked up for a divisional rival game. Ravens did play tough, but still we came out on top and that's all that matters - especially in a divisional game.

I would hope were all just holding our expectations in a little because recent history proves...we are a really good team during the day on Sunday..
We (I particularly) would like to see how we fare after 7pm on Thursdays, Sundays, and Mondays to really get a good feel about the potential for this team.

Does this team have a few areas to improve? Sure! Which team doesn't; but for crying out loud lets not bombard this message board with threads that nit-pick small areas of weakness. We wait a decade for a season like this and when it comes around so many people seem hell bent on ignoring the fun. Perhaps I'll put it down to shellshock and disbelief!
Either way, long may it continue. Unbeaten! Who DEY!
I am very excited, see the mood.
I think some like me who have been a fan for 20+ years like to be cautiously optimistic.
We have been hurt bad before, but this season just seems different, just like Andy Dalton in a great way.

Who gives a shit about Ray Rice? We have Gio and Hill who are way better or will be then he ever was...
Just watch. Don't forget about our players Matt. It is always tough to go into Baltimore and win, and this year is no different.
