Oh I'd say you're spot on about that. Remember McCarron lighting it up, somewhat, when he faced D's in man to man and then looking totally lost against zone ?
I'd say the Ravens are going to do everything possible to cause him confusion.

The chances are he's not the guy, but this is a great opportunity to find that out. And at the same time you can discover if you at least have a legit backup.

I have a feeling Ryan Finley will play 3-5 games as the starter and Jake Dolegala will play the remaining games. I think the coaching staff wants to evaluate both players and I expect both will get some playing time this year. Between the two I have a hope Jake Dolegala starts the week the Bengals play the PATS and the Bengals walk away with the first win of the season and he has a perfect game. I personally don't have anything against Ryan Finley, I just feel he is so similar to Dalton that if he wins the job the Bengals may end up subpar again and not win a playoff game.
I'm hoping Jake Dolegala is the Bengals Tom Brady, an under the radar player who ends up being a winner.

Ryan Finley is in for a rough NFL debut. The Bengals will be facing the best defense in the NFL in the Ravens with a stretchy offensive line, no speed at WR, and the worst run game in the league. I pray that AJ Green is back to give the kid a hand but even then I still expect it to look bad.

I hope this goes well, but I think we're in for a repeat performance of last year when Driskell started. If he doesn't perform well, I'd rather they went back to Dalton in an effort trade him in the offseason if we plan on moving on. I would think it would hurt his trade value if he has to sit the rest of the season.
Best case scenario: Finley becomes a quality starting QB. Highly unlikely IMO.
Worst case scenario: Finely struggles through the next 8 games, Dalton is cut, we get nothing in return, top pick in the draft is used up at QB instead of OL/LB and we're even worse next year as the team continues to age.
I read the Family was vacationing in Switzerland while MB was hanging in Cincinnati during the trade deadline. (probably answering phones enjoying telling everyone "NO")
The league should really intervene. I think MB is running a scam anymore.

I would normally think that this move would help our running game as teams will do what they can to attack the rookie but if it's true that teams are already stopping our run game without even trying (i.e. 8 men in the box) than I think Finley is DEFINITELY going to have his work cut out for him.
Though, if you think about it, the better Finley does should be multiplied by the crap situation he's in. Meaning if he plays decently, it should be viewed as playing good; if he plays good, it should be viewed as great; etc.

There's no need to hope. Jake Dolegalg IS the Bengals Tom Brady.

Absolutely disgraceful. I don't care if it's the bye week. There should be absolutely NO REASON to go on vacation DURING THE NFL SEASON. The team is 0-8. Why are you not working as hard as possible at what can be done to fix the team? Vacation. This pisses me off more than the no trade thing. I'd go so far as to say that I think teams should be punished for going on vacation during the regular season.

Well. it IS a good idea to find out now. If he isn't, then we're in line for the #1 Pick. Best QB and all the rest on the lines, maybe we can assemble an O-line full of new guys.

Well, assuming Jonah is a keeper, he and Hopkins are 2 guys we can keep. That only leaves 3 other starting positions and all the backup positions needing replaced.

I wonder if it could rival Klinglers debut. I think he was sacked 10 times in his debut game, and he never recovered since. He got Bengalized right out of the gate.

Dalton can read defenses pre snap but once the ball is hiked he is staring at the pass rushers or looking for his check down. His vision downfield is non existent if he scrambles then he is throwing it out of bounds 90% of the time.

Same here, Finley has something that Dalton doesn't. He can move a pocket with his awareness and he can throw Receivers open.
This is a rare ability and something we NEED here BADLY.
If your QB just panics at the slightest amount of pressure, it is over from the get go.
I have had quite enough of this and am happy the team finally made the right move.
Actually excited now as I posted in the other thread.
Doubt we win many games regardless with Lou and that Defense anyways.

It's very possible lol.
I hope Finley does put some good things on film because even if they decide to go another direction at QB in the draft he could have some decent trade value in a couple years.
