I haven’t even entertained the idea he could be done for good. What a terrible ending to one of the best Bengal careers that would be.

33 years old is already the statistical cliff of production loss for receivers. Just points even more to being time to pursue an alternate course.

When a WR's "base" starts to go it tends to lead to the end of their career, Feet/Ankle/Knee issues in WR's who are 30 and older are notorious for this. AJ has now had multiple lower extremity issues in the last couple years and it's starting to look like his career will be heading towards an unfortunate end. Even if they can get this ankle fixes there are usually compensation injuries that come along with this stuff that result in other injuries.
In one way, I am glad it puts to rest the narrative that this was all a power play by AJ. As it was pointed out, this doesn't help his FA outlook at all. On another I am happy the front office slow played the negotiations as they waited to see how he recovered as this could have been a catastrophic long term contract for the team. In the end though I'd like to reiterate, there is no way they could have traded him as he WOULD NOT HAVE PASSES A PHYSICAL.

This is a myth that needs to die. The "FootballDoc" (A former NFL team doctor) broke down the video and basically said the field had nothing to do with it, it was the player rolling on to AJ's ankle that did the damage.

My mistake thought he was 32 now. He'll be 32 in July.
Doesn't change my point, with his injury history and age he's not a reliable long term option. Maybe the details of this visit change the outlook on his ankle but if he's there because there're still issues with it, he's a huge risk to take.

Ofc he’s not a long term option. If he’s healthy enough to play next year I’d offer him a 2-3 year deal to give Burrow a true #1 WR, and hopefully take AJ right into retirement.

Prior to all this starting and back in October his statement was that he didn't want to be franchised and wanted a long term deal. What is long term to him at 31? Don't know and maybe 3 years suffices for him. That's betting a lot on him being healthy enough to play next year to offer him a 3 year deal now. Like I said maybe this visit sheds some light on his status once they comment on it.

The whole AJ Green situation is strange. 4 to 8 week recover has turned into 3 months. One week people are saying he looks amazing in pre game workouts the next week it's a foot specialist.

He'll get a 3 year deal, fair to both him and the club, paid partially with the money saved by letting Dalton go....

He could have saved time and just went on one of those Dr. Scholls machines at his local Kroger...
