So based on ur plan ur ok with us getting gashed yet again on the ground each week for 16 weeks. Great plan pimp. And ur comparing rookies to a vet at the tackle
Position. How do u know that the ceiling hasnt been reached in Johnson while Howard ford and Dillard have a much higher ceiling and end up being much better players? It’s no mystery why the steelers just let him walk. It wasn’t cuz he was a good starting right tackle in the league. We are building for the future. We need to address the oline first and formost after we snag Burrow. And I kinda actual agree on ur point that maybe we do need to address the running back situation at some point but Not in the 3rd and not at the expense of a good linebacker hell no.
In a perfect world for me Our draft should go
Joe Burrow QB
Austin Jackson OT
Solomon Kindley OG
Jacob Phillips LB
After that go get ur running back or wide receiver for all I care but imo we have to attack those positions first and the draft is set up this year to do that at least as of now. If we go wideout in 2 and running back in 3 we’re now waiting til the 4th and 5th rounds to even consider a offensive lineman or a linebacker and on this team with this roster with where we suffered all year long thats not a productive approach at all imo. Like I said last post we we will see how it plays out.
This is a 2-14 team. You aren't going to fill all it's needs just in one draft. If you're drafting to try and get an immediate starter in 3, you've already missed the boat.
It's a bad LB class. If the Bengals think it's a priority, they should address it in FA so they have flexibility in the draft. I would personally address it this way since LB's are usually a pretty good value in FA. I'm not opoossed to drafting one early, either, if there's value, but I'm not drafting one just to draft one. Again, there was no value there in this particular sim.
How do you know Ford, Howard, and Dillard aren't topped out? Johnson only played 2 games at T in college and stepped in and outperformed all those guys as a rookie. I would say he still has plenty of upside based on his inexperience at the position. Fact is, he outplayed them, and with a year in our program, he'll likely outplay anybody you can get in the 2nd next year.
You want to draft based on your perceived needs, go for it. You don't like mine because I didn't do what you would do, cool. I've explained my logic, backed it up with facts, and I'm done going round and round with you on this.

Probably the one I've been happiest with so far.
1. Joe Burrow - QB, LSU
2. Mekhi Becton - OT, Louisville
3. Brandon Aiyuk - WR, Arizona State
4. Antoine Winfield Jr. - S, Minnesota
5. Jordyn Brooks - LB, Texas Tech
6. Michael Divinity Jr. - DE, LSU
7. Quintez Cephus - WR, Wisconsin
Landed the top talent ( I felt ) in each round, though I know all of them aren't necessarily a need. Would need to address a few positions in free agency, but it's a good starting point.

My perceived needs lmao u do heavy drugs if u dont think this teams immediate needs are linebacker and offensive line and the facts u provide may be true but support a horrible attempt at addressing the problems this team has. This team couldn’t protect the qb and couldn’t stop the run and u want to wait til the 4th round to start addressing those problems in the draft and you want mike brown to spend money in FA lol ur either brand new or starring in a new season of lost. Buh byeeee

Had a really fun 2nd round pick last night. In almost every mock I've done, Kenneth Murray and Tee Higgins areaglese off the table by pick 33. Murray usually slots in with the eagles and Higgins never makes it past Buffalo. Last night I had to pick one of them and I took Higgins. Burrow needs weapons to throw to still but Murray was probably the right pick.
It was a heavy OT and QB first round. I had to wait to pick Cole Van Lanen in the 4th for value.
What would you have done?

I'm using my board with fanspeak steve, but I made realistic picks based on the fact I've already spent a good amount of time scouting most of these players and it's my best estimates pre-combine.
I didn't know if trade downs were allowed so I stuck with the standard picks even tho I think this draft can be interesting moving down in the 2nd to get an extra 3rd and the Dalton/Glenn trades could boost our stock even further.
Round 1 - Joe Burrow - LSU - QB
Joey Dimez!
Round 2 - Shane Lemieux - OG - Oregon
This guy will be a late first early 2nd round pick and easily my favorite left guard prospect in the draft. Extremely athletic and great in both passing game and in space. Picks up assignments well and quick movement allows him to adjust mid-play picking up multiple blocks. Watch the Auburn game.
Round 3- Chase Claypool - WR - Notre Dame
Big bodied receiver whose best trait is his hands and arms length. Really stretches out to get balls and enough speed to get in good positions. I think he pairs really well with what Burrow does and can hit his windows well enough to put himself into a position to reach out and play like a hybrid WR/TE.
Round 4 - Joe Bachie - LB - Michigan State
I dunno what to say I like the kid both at Mike and/or Will and I feel like with his football IQ and enough athletism to play at the next level that he will be a better NFL player than college player. His coverage skills are reliable enough that he won't be a burden, but he shines in run defense.
Round 5 - Calvin Throckmorton - OT/G/C Oregon
He's not a superstar at any particular position right now, but he's above average and very versatile. He's played with Shane for a long time and I like bringing in guys who were part of a successful line in college together just for comfort and learn from each other at the next level. If we get him in the 5th I would be thrilled and it may be my favorite value pick in this mock.
Round 6 - Isiah Hodgins - Oregon State
Another Tall big-bodied guy with great hands and a great developmental prospect. Any other year he would be a 2-3 round pick, but because this draft is absolutely loaded with WR he will fall. If he tests extremely well at the combine he could be a mover however so stay tuned.
Round 7 - Antoine Brooks Jr. - S - Maryland
The guy I know the least about and I need to watch more tape, but I think he comes in as a solid backup and special teams guy which is really what you're looking for in the 7th.

It honestly comes down to who gets resigned and what they do in FA between Murray and Higgins. All things being equal, you would go Higgins because good FA LB's are a lot cheaper than good FA WR's. However, if they resign AJ and don't get any LB help in FA, Murray would fill a more immediate need. I think Higgins is a better overall prospect, though.

1 Joe Burrow, QB LSU
2 Mekhi Becton, OT Louisville
3 Brandon Jones, S Texas
4 Bradlee Anae, EDGE Utah
5 Shaquille Quarterman, LB Miami
6 Kamal Martin, LB Minnesota
7 Jauan Jennings, WR Tennessee
This is about as good as I think I'm going to do on one of these mock sites. I tired to balance BPA and position of need. Burrow is the #1 guy, and he need a guy like Becton to protect his blind side. Move Jonah to RT. We still need to address guard in FA.
Anae is one hell of a football player. Look up his film. He's a monster. Maybe better than Lawson.
Quarterman and Martin are both vicious LBs who attack the ball and who can get back in coverage.
Jennings had some issues at UT. He got frustrated with the coaches, but they brought him back and he excelled. He reminds me a bit of Jamar Chase, who we ought to target in next year's draft.
Today I'm TEAM SEWELL. Tomorrow TEAM PITTS. Maybe TEAM CHASE. I can't decide, and glad I don't have to.

Yawp Jennings is getting a lot of buzz that's why these draft big boards are so off right now. Just so many players that it really doesn't start getting correct till after senior bowl and combine.

Brooks is exactly what Bengals need for a safety roomer that can help contain TE and running QB. I like him a lot.

Another TDN without taking a WR an choosing players near the top of the predictive board. I made this one inspired by watching the Titan beating the Ravens. We need to beef up our DT, LB and DE with a solid rotation.
Joe Burrow -QB
Raekwon Davis - DT
Zach Baun - LB/Edge
Trey Adams - OT
Zack Shackleford - G
Michael Divinity - DE
Antonie Brooks Jr - S

But u didn’t draft 1 player like the titans Rashaan Evans or there rookie who played outstanding David long JR? Baun is like Correa. Who would play like Lawson and doesn’t solve our vigil/linebacker problem.

Honestly man I really want and "hope" to sign a FA like Littleton before the draft, because we need a guy lke him who can start right now and not miss a beat. Dye I really like, but he was gone or he would have been in my picks. He can cover TEs. The Titans LBs were impressive, but in my mind their DL couldnt be moved by the Ravens and that what I want personally. I dont just want pass rush specialists at DE, I want players who can also play the run and keep ur pass rush guys fresh. Dunlap is getting old, Lawson seems often hurt and still needs to show he can pull a full season off and play at a high level. Baun seems pretty versatile really. Great run defender, more of a 3 down guy across from Hubbard. Divinity is just a potential pick. His injury dropped him and could be a value.
On a side not David Long was a beast for WVU in college. A real playmaker and I could see him turning out really good for the Titans. Wish we had him. He ripped the Big 12 up.

TDN is the better one but think of players like stock market with fluctuations...
Hard for sites to keep up
